We will certainly get broader picture of the team as we play more matches on the road and face stronger opponents. Qatar, the toughest opponent in our group will look to test us, will be a tight game in which there will be a lot of pressure.

Salem Al Dawsary got a needless yellow card in late hours of the game so he will miss the match against Qatar

With qualification secure he did not want him to risk himself for suspension from playing the knock-out matches. A smart move indeed.

Totally agree with you. Yesterday against Lebanon was much better performance but again as said the defense look shaky specially in dead balls.

Qatar game wont again be so decisive of they beat today DPR Korea , they might want to rest some players too as well the KSA NT..

Fahad , Salem and Hattan are forming a deadly trio, & Abed joins them supporting just behind the front three it will be a deadly combination.

I am hoping for a repeat performance from the team when they did back in Indonesia & Vietnam with so many young players taking the team forward

Saw the goals and highlights. Fahad goal was particularly awesome. Looking forward to see your team match against us if that happen. It will be tense and exciting like our 1990s/2000s rivalry.

if you finish 2nd then it would be Uzbekistan.
if you finish 1st then it will be Iraq

Dont feel Japan finishing first in other group

    Mostly Uzbekistan or Iraq..

if Iran it would be blockbuster.

BTW , its absurd that finishing 1st or 2nd in the group have no advantage since none of the team is facing any 3rd place team in any group.

Now it's bit more clear, a win against Qatar and we will face Iraq, a draw or lose and we will face Japan next.

A disjointed performance leads to us meeting Japan in last 16.
As I said the team is too relied on Salem and the bench is not strong enough..

All n all it would be miracle if we make it to last 8..

It seems that Saudi have lost the match against Japan even before kicking the ball.
The performance of Saudi Arabia tonight against Qatar was pathetic. Saudi defense is not in good shape on defending set pieces, and the Defense got exposed on many occasions.
If we count today's match's missed penalty and a Qatari goal that was mistakenly disallowed for some odd reason (in which the defense was again sleeping and marking was not of the highest standards) then Saudi should have had lost this match either 4-0 or 4-1 (if Fahad Al Muwallad would have scored instead of hitting the wood work in the first half).
Also, today's match shows that Saudi lack fire power in shape of any decent striker up front. Nasser Al Shamrani sort of strikers are totally missed and Siarri is not in a position to take up the lead role upfront as he's not experience enough.
Saudi will be lucky if they even draw against Japan while winning is a big ask without any creative striker, a natural number 9 up front.
Qatar's no. 11 (Akram Afif) was impressive along with Hayder Haydoos and the goal scorer. Also, Saudi Arabia did not attempted to shoot on goal if they could not manage to penetrate in the 8 yard box for scoring. Maghavi missed some good chances while Ghareeb was not fit for pressure games as this point in time. Saudi are lacking any creative player up front in shape of striker for sure and this hurt them in this game and have the tendency to hurt in future game as well, Japan is no minnows and one of the power houses of Asia and playing against Japan with this sort of team is not gonna win you any game. Only Saudi's Luck would make them beat Japan otherwise, it's extremely difficult and almost to impossible.

I think the return of Omar & Yasser in the defense will give some shape to the team.

Good thing with Japan is they are not that sharp in set-pieces and have not performed wow so far.

I am guessing a repeat game in Vietnam where we won 3-2..

Just win the match and meet us in semis. It will be a good match up with old rivals. We have some unfinished business.:)

I don't take their group performance seriously. They have barely been out of 1st gear.

Good Bye Asian Cup & probably Pizzi too...

We will expect the same comments from the coach that we missed a lot chances & had better possession..But in the end results matter..

Months after exiting WC they could not find a suitable striker although we have couple of them @ disposal..

The re-building process starts again with new coach , new players & new everything..TS ruined everything..
