the problem is not that they take the paycheck, is the fact that they keep getting call ups for the national team because of the idiotic "jerarquia" ideology even after they level drops which is a certainty with players with that mentality, it is an indication that they don't want to try hard and want the easy way off, who wants that shit in a national team?
I agree with you but that is different than what the original poster I replied to was trying to say. Thar is coaches issue you are talking about
the problem is that when it happens he won't be dropped, Aquino is still there, Giovani and Jona are still there, Salcido and Torrado took almost not going to the world cup for people to realize they were shit, JJ Corona is still there, etc.
Another problem we have is that our talent pool isn't big enough that guys are that obviously better so coaches go with what they know.

Se acaba la NO - VELA 🕯✖️🇬🇭 El experimentado africano Kevin Prince Boateng es el tapado del #FCBarcelona y será refuerzo blaugrana. pic.twitter.com/wfQsch4tcS— Xavi (@XaviSol_) January 21, 2019 Kevin Prince Boateng will be in Barcelona today. Here we go! 💣🔵🔴 #Barcelona #Barça #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 21, 2019 Vela's been snubbed.
I think the inactivity did him in. Vela is a way better player than that dude, and in his prime. He's not even a natural 9, what they were supposedly looking for. That's why I didn't get too excited. Vela was like the third option.
Seems like i'm in the minority to think he did the right move by coming back to Tigeres. There he'll practice daily against very good offensive players. Guys like Gignac, Edu, Aquino, Damm, Valencia...Also, he'll regain his confidence and play regularly. It seems like he's peaked in terms of ability. He doesn't appear to have the quality to jump to an elite Europen team (i.e. Barcelone, RM, MU, PSG). So why not take the money, come to Tigeres, and develop his leadership skills (team captain maybe). After all, the best defensive player going into the last world cup was Nestor Araujo, a liga mx product. So it's not like liga mx can't develop NT level defenders/players.
If Vela had a strong mind he'd kept himself fit during the off-season and actually pushed for the loan move like crazy. About Salcedo making more money. Maybe so, but he's also limiting himself. He's 25, and he decided to effectively cut off his potential. Maybe he'll be making more money right now, but in the future, had he chosen to persevere and make it to a big team, he'd be paid far more than Tigres and Liga MX ever could. He chose mediocrity.
The difference here is Good vs great. He could of been great maybe not Rafa Marquez level but close. He was 25 playing in an amazing league for a solid team and getting regular playing time. He could of waited gotten the Euro passport and made a move to a bigger team in a couple of years at Frankfurt. Instead he decided to take a simpler route and go back to Mexico. Again I don’t fault him, I don’t begin to try and understand why he made the decision but the difference to me is wanting to be the greatest vs just another Liga MX bloke.
Vela went straight from Spain to LA a year ago to begin preparations for his debut season with LAFC where he played for 3 months before joining the NT before the World Cup. He then returned to LA after a two week break and played straight through until his season was over in the playoffs. It’s got nothing to do with mentality and the mere fact that people keep bringing it up says more about your own mentality and projections than his.
Lol, last season for Real Sociedad he was riding pine. His only goal came on his farewell match, on December 20th, 2017. Then he didn't play for LAFC until March 4th, 2018. He played well, fair enough. Got to go to the world cup, came back and finished his season in November 1st. hasn't played football since. We know he was in vacation until literally today. What a joke.
In the past, Tigres has made moves for Francisco “Kikin” Fonseca, Omar Bravo, Carlos Salcido, and Javier Aquino to all return to Liga MX, with many fans blaming the club for Mexico’s failures at the international stage.
At least the dude will get to play Champions CONCACAF or whatever they call it. Big match ups vs Tauro FC and Municipal. That’s pretty much like the Europa Cup..... right?
We have an average NT because our system doesn’t produce enough great players. If it did we wouldn’t care what one particular player does.
