Okay, so I only watched the first half and bits of the 2nd half because I had to step out with wifey. Are you talking about the little scuffle that happened in 1st half at 43rd minute?? Or a different one??
The one at 43 minutes wasnt a real fight, just a pushfest. So I was half right about that. I dreamt actual punches were thrown....LOL. But I got the victory correct. And a nice victory too
I was also there! Great game. First time seeing Ajax live so it was really exciting. Plus the whole stadium was Brazilian so they were really pissed off with the penalty ha! I guess our players felt the heat, Dejong like always excelled in the second half with some nice passes. Ziyech just hold the ball too much. Did you guys see Gravenberch? Oh lord what a talent he is. Dejong like leave already so Gravengerch can develop. Ekkelkamp I don't know. There is something I don't like about him but he has a good vision though. Let's see, all in all happy with the victory so my 4h drive from Miami was totally worth it!
Jeezus what a crazy game. Been a while since I've seen a spectacle like this. 2 points dropped though
Thanks to luck and ref. we didn't lose this one. Squandered a rare opportunity to top the table, might not have another one. Is this the best keeper we have, bar Onana?
Was entertaining to watch it. The point however is (not the one point salvaged) that the faces of the Ajax players during the warming up after learning PSV dropped two points were indicative of the attitude they brought on to the pitch like a smirk on the face and the conviction the lead of the table was theirs. The attitude was as bad as that of my team yesterday.
A hugely disappointing match from Ajax. The #2 keeper forced into action because of illness and did not perform well. An outstanding keeper at the other end of the pitch denied Ajax at least three goals. A defense from Ajax that was all sixes and sevens made for a forgettable match. Teams fighting for the top spot have to show better than was on display today. Every single Ajax frailty was exposed today. On two of the Heerenveen goals Daley Blind was nowhere to be found, I suspect he was caught up field as he was going forward quite often from a center back position. I don't know if this was tactical or not but it did leave Ajax exposed. Player Ratings: Lamprou (4,5) - had the great save to preserve the tie; I suspect that Onana would have saved two of the goals Sinkgraven (5) - had one good intervention and a stinger of a shot that was saved but again displayed no defending ability at all; either go with Mazraoui or start Bakker Blind (6.5) - don't know if it was tactical to keep him up field but he did leave things exposed de Ligt (6.5) - didn't dominate the way he usually does Mazraoui (7) - decent match at both FB sides de Jong (7) - good ball control and a bit unlucky not to have scored Schöne (7) - played a nice match van de Beek (6) - other than drawing a penalty had a quiet match Tadic (7) - unlucky on the PK which Hahn saved with his outstretched foot Dolberg (6) - didn't get much service but was another whose shot was well saved Ziyech (7) - strong match with some incisive passing and defending Kristensen (5.5) - OK coming on when Sinkgraven had to leave Neres (6) - maybe he could have done better on the scoring chance Huntelaar (6) - I thought he had the match winner Same two teams in mid-week for the Beker followed by Feyenoord on the weekend. Will ten Hag rotate players? Cannot afford to lose in Rotterdam if Ajax want to win the league.
That was unbelievable. Huntelaar needed to be on about twenty minutes sooner. It’s crazy how easily that could have been a full dropped three points. Even at 3-1, you knew they were coming back... all the bounces were going their way. It felt inevitable.
Strongly disagree on Ziyech rating. He was awful today bar the assist to Tadic. Too many bad passes and you can see his frustration with Wodenberg. He is not a top player and I feel he holds the ball too much. Really bad shots today too. He can have a great game or a really bad like today and the team felt it. I was hoping more on De jong too but he didn't play bad. Lammers was good imo.
The fourth goal was ridiculous on the part of de Jong in the build-up by Heerenveen. His very lackadaisical defense through the midfield allowed the play to develop that lead to the corner. Very frustrating in injury time and showed a lack of maturity.
The defending on all the goals was quite poor. Ajax gets exposed way too much and tends to rely on the keeper to make tough stops. Lamprou cannot make the kinds of saves that Onana does (IMO he is too short to be a top class keeper). Ajax does not have a defensive MF which also makes for problems. I suspect that ten Hag was very disappointed with the team's effort.
Probably but they created many chances and were unfortunate that Hahn (I think he started off in the Ajax youth system) had a great match in goal for Heerenveen.
Ajax have officially announced the transfer of Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona for €75M with another €11M add on payment based on performance. A tidy bit of business done by Overmars. Maybe de Ligt is worth €100M???
Nice business indeed. A bit surprised... I thought PSG was in the driver seat for a long time, nonetheless, I am excited to see FDJ linking up with Messi! Frenkie is now the most expensive Dutchman ever, eclipsing Van Dijk (€85m, from Southampton to Liverpool). Speaking of Overmars, interestingly, no. 3 on the list of most expensive Dutchman is still held by Overmars (Arsenal to Barcelona for €40m). It's been eternity when that happened...
Is this an immediate transfer, or one that will take place over the summer, like the Pulisic move to Chelsea?
Juve rumored to be leading the race for deLigt's signature. I think that would be an excellent club for him. Better than the EPL at this point: https://www.ad.nl/transfer-talk/juventus-aan-kop-in-race-om-de-ligt~a13b94fd/
