If Ceballos shot went in instead of hitting the crossbar, our midfield 3 would have all had a goal to their names. It can’t be stressed how important this is, it’s criminal that with as many talented players we have on our midfield, we barely manage to get 5 goals from them combined a season. Our attack doesn’t have to be fantastic this season if we can get our midfielders to chip more often, not ideal but it is what it is.
Anyone see Reguillon's celebration when Casemiro scored? Gives you shivers, very passionate celebration. I think it's time to trust the inexperienced players. They don't shy away from the occasion. Llorente came in against Roma and played without fear, Reguillon has come on and locked his side, Ceballos and Vinicious with that fearless mentality. We need to trust them and try to get another CF to help out
Yes I know there is no one else however he is back up. That’s what happens when you go with Benzema as your main striker when you know he DOES not score 20 goals.
It says a lot that on a day that Benz and Lucas were bad, Vinicius was dangerous but pretty errant with his opportunities, we still dominated impressively. When the midfield and defense are in that level of form, the attack doesnt even have to be that good for us to win games and collect points. Add in a good attacker and this team still has contending level quality all around.

Great performance from the team, still one game does not solve all the issues for me, we looked good in the second half of this game, intensity all around but we so desperately still need a finisher it’s unbelievable, i keep hearing Benz is a focal point , a reference for this team, a reference to what?, as much as I am tired of LV I am equally tired of Benz, but I am really really hoping this is a , however small, turning point of some sorts for us this season
Was it before the corner? Because they showed a replay of the corner and it was a normal kick into the area that one of our defenders headed to initiate the counter..
One thing I did notice during this game - Benzema is either afraid to take individual dribbling opportunities on his own or his confidence is just totally shot. Some of those chances he just laid off to someone on the right flank or dropped it back. The aggressive Benzema from Lyon would have driven forward and gotten that dangerous vertical penetration in. *shrugs* oh well.
If nothing else Luka showed Lucas, Benz, Vin, and Fede how they should finish 1 v 1 situations with the keeper, gotta put those away
Been saying this all season, the undisputed starters are too comfortable. Let the kids get some minutes, they are more direct at times, more ambitious and it makes a difference when defense has to come out and close down midfield rather than sit back and wait for cross after ball goes wide for the 20th time.
Vinicius and Fed are still young I can accept they won’t be so sharp Meanwhile the likes of Benz do this every week but people say he’s a team player. If he can’t score can you really expect the rest to follow....
