The likelihood of Vela going to Barcelona is small although he's the Mexican player that makes most sense due to his having a Spanish passport first and foremost and his proven pedigree and talent in Spain a distant second.
Rumors are that Malcolm is also on his way out of Barcelona. Dude got pulled out of being a starter for Roma to being played as a fringe scrub in meaningless games. Barca will likely be looking for a loaned forward who could cover both the wings and center. The word was also that Morata was the favored signing (who's rumored to have just pulled out) and that there was a second favorite which was not in the list of rumored names like Javier, Giroud, Lucas Perez, etc. Nobody knew who that name was. It's starting to sound like it's Vela... Of course, unless he's been keeping shape, there's no way I see this happening even if Barca are interested.

I don't understand all of the hate for Vela or shock that this is a potential move. He's still got game and has the potential to make an impact. It's a good fit for both teams given Barca's timeline and no real need to buy anyone.
