Losing Trent is a blow. However, there are positives to replacing a 19 year old kid with a super reliable, experienced player, who is a leader, and the only player in our squad who has won the league before. I trust Milner at right back, and I think we were going to see him there in some games even if Trent didn’t get hurt. Klopp was going to find ways to keep him on the field.
Millie is a fantastic footballer and is a real gem in our squad. but ... I'll reserve some enthusiasm for him as regular at RB after I see how he does against Zaha, who along with Hazard is one of trickiest and most difficult players to contain over 90 mins. there's little doubt Palace will pump long balls at Millie all game and put him to a huge test.
3 goals and 3 assists in 19 games this season. Apparently plenty of teams are finding ways to contain him.
Call me crazy, but I feel more comfortable with a team “targeting” Milner than I would with them going after Trent all game. Milner would welcome it. He played an entire season at fullback without ever looking out of place. He has already played two games at right back this season and had no problems at all.
Gomez, who was expected start training at the end of the month, is now expected back next week https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.c...ng-crystal-palace-match-liverpool-injury-news
Agree. I think part of Klopp's reasoning for letting Clyne go is that he still wants to involved Milner in the team, but with Fabinho, Keita, and possibly Ox, Milner may see his chances there decrease. so this is a way to get him into the team on a more regular basis.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to return to the squad next month.(James Pearce) As Jurgen would say …..very cool!
ummmm wow? that's about 2 months early. that said - we should be a little tempered in our enthusiasm as there will probably be a few set-backs that always occur during these types of rehab.
I agree newt, still a long way to go. even without setbacks, getting healthy --- then getting match fit --- then regaining form are all separate stages he needs to get through. but it would be really great to have him show up, raring to go, in April/May.
From what I have read on AOC, he is a valued member of the team and is a motivational kind of guy to have around training and within the matchday squad. It can only help to have him closer to the team whether it is in training or match day squad. Its a win win.
ick -- well there is that.... but i was really referring to the stretching quality of it after the two bindings heal fully...
If we can negotiate our way past Zaha tomorrow I'm not too bothered by the defensive lack of TAA for the next few weeks.....
If you can figure out a way not to have to use a cadaver to get a piece of a corpse I'll send you a $1,000,000 check.....
Not sure of Fabinho status? But Lallana is back and hopefully Wijnaldum, TAA and Lovren will all be 100% by next game. We should be OK.
Echo says hamstring .... but doesn't say anything about severity .... https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...s/jurgen-klopp-admits-liverpool-need-15703909
I think it isn't too bad - he walked off completely fine instead of the limp walk we often see when it's a bad one
now Hoever has a bit of an injury. not serious, likely available for Leicester if needed, but jesus christ .....
