The Croatian team that reached the final this year had a core of it's players in Brazil in 2014 and they crashed out after Mexico beat them in the last group stage game. Knowing Mexican fans and media they would have demanded that those players that failed in 2014 never be called up again. Honestly, you just don't do shit like that in International soccer. I would say Mexican fans are a very fickle and uninformed fanbase. I'm not saying the FMF is run well but there are other federations out there that make the FMF look good by comparison.
I agree, some of those Centrie federations are an absolute disaster, and even Croatia itself has a terrible federation from what I've read. South Americans like the AFA and the CBF also have a lot of issues. The big thing is that as bad as CONCACAF is nowadays, it's nowhere close to how bad it is in the women's game outside of the US and Canada. If we were talking three years ago when Chucky was still in Pachuca and Pulisic had that good season in Dortmund I would agree that Pulisic was a better player. As things stand now Chucky has proven to be a stand out player in the Dutch League, was named one of the breakout young players at the World Cup, was named one of the breakout young players in the Champions. If Chucky was Brazilian or Argentine you best believe he would be gone from PSV by now. All the while Pulisic's career has at best stagnated or at worse regressed. There is going to be an insane amount of pressure on him to succeed at Chelsea and if he doesn't he will be considered a huge bust. Honestly, I think he will struggle he has shown to be weak going up against big physical defenders, you saw a bit of that in the World Cup qualifiers especially away. Also, his decision making and tendency to dribble too much are problems.
