What a sad showing for the host city team at this draft. If we get Frankowski, will that bring more Polish fans to the stadium?
Piotr Wołosik @PiotrWolosik Po 4 latach Przemysław Frankowski żegna się z Jagiellonią Białystok. Reprezentant Polski zostanie pomocnikiem amerykańskiego Chicago Fire. Więcej jutro w @przeglad @Maciej_Wasowski
It appears I stand corrected, but I won't believe it just yet. He'd certainly help the dumpster Fire.
Achmad Grozny offered more money , yes we were outbid by a club in Chechnya . But in some strange twist playing for the Fire is better than playing in Grozny- go figure.
I think living in Chicago would be preferable to him, but I worry about his development with the Fire. Pawno could (probably will) destroy any future the kid has so hopefully he only listens to Bastian.
Could this mean Kuba is coming? Friends and family deal, a la White Sox getting friends and family for Machado
Mls has listed this. Seems real. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...fire-sign-polish-winger-przemys-aw-frankowski
They report on reports that make the league look good. Just because they say something doesn't mean it's gonna happen.
I think with Paul Tenorio reporting it, it' pretty much is happening now. Him and Stejskal and Twellman are pretty accurate. I am interested in seeing who else we are talking to in terms of attacking players. If we get this guy then does Ojeda not come? And are we talking to a #10? Who is this GK and CB? And it'd be amazing if they can sign Polster and Kap again. I don't know what's gotten into me guys but I'm drinking that RED KOOL AID BABY!!!! LEGGOOOOOOOOO
current starting 11 looks like this to me: NIKOLIC KATAI MCCARTY MIHAILOVIC BRONICO EDWARDS CORRALES SCHWEINSTEIGER MARCELO HASLER SANCHEZ I see at least 3 guys who shouldn't be starting at all, and 3 or 4 more you'd like to improve or at least have competing for minutes rather than having them inked in on the starting roster. The defense is essentially starting from scratch again, and if you want to move Basti into the midfield where he belongs, and get a good GK, we'll be looking at a back 5 who have never played a single game together. regardless of what Nimrod does in the next 6 weeks, the 1st half of the season is looking like a disaster. my soccer world is fvcking shooked
Their parents will be thrilled. Wait, did Nelson not tell you? That’s his next big plan to shake up the soccer world. Making us the first senior level “pay to play” team. That way GAM/TAM won’t needlessly be wasted on frivolous things like signing players of a decent quality AND the valuation of the club goes up for hauptman. Win win
Excellent! We f*cking dominated in 1998, winning the double. We had fun and swagger and a real "team" attitude. We had a GM who was beloved by the fans and the players. We had an absentee owner (the best kind). We had an amazing player acquisition group, who scouted aging foreign players with much left to give, young and hungry American players from other MLS teams ready to prove their worth on the national stage, and a few "kids" to learn. We even had a local media ready to embrace the team. Please give me 1998 again. Your mentioning if 1998 makes me sad now. By the way ca 1998, wasn't Rodriguez in the midst of building the "MetroStars" into the worst team in MLS history?
@milicz Can a native polish speaker give us a fair translation to what Krol is meaning in this? Odradzam Frankowi Chicago Fire , chyba ze on chce ten amerykański sen— Krzysztof Krol (@KrzysztofKrol23) January 12, 2019
I feel like the fire might be doing this more than just for the player. How long has it been since they've had a Polish player? They need more Polish and Mexican players considering our demographics.
This Frankowski won't move the attendance needle at all, on top of that the Polish fans aren't going to come see the current version of the Fire. It's crap and they know it.
Maybe, but young Frankowski is unknown to casual fans so I don't think he'll be a big draw. That being said this is a great pickup, I'd take him over Błaszczykowski if I had to choose. It's too bad that the team has so many other holes.
