So where does the Transfer money go? Is it staying here? They start digging in the summer, Wow they are moving. I didn't think they would have plans ready for the Stadium yet. I hope they don't do seat licenses.
Sure. If you are taking out of the equation Porter’s relationship with Chris Klein, or that Columbus bid against themselves and gave him 5 years at a million per when no other team would do that....if you take those things out of the equation courtside seats at a Lakers game with a college friend support your point, I guess.
Umm...there's about three or four reasons that's wrong. A big one is that Swenson's is all over Cleveland suburbs.
Question for you Hang. If GBS hadn’t played for the Crew, would you be drooling over him as a coach? Yes he has had some success at Boca, but then again it’s difficult not to have some level of success there. Porter has proven his ability to success within the American system. There are pros and cons to both but I don’t think this is such a cut and dry issue that you should be so upset over the decision.
Akron is like 45 minutes from Cleveland. Saying Akron isn’t part of the Cleveland area is like saying Delaware or Lancaster aren’t part of the Columbus area.
Despite his characterizations, he's emotionally invested in being right, so despite arguing that anyone who has said anything positive about Porter is being emotional, his arguments are as, if not more so.
Fischer stated at the Land Grant event that their plan was to break ground this summer. They pretty much need to in order to have the stadium ready by March '21. Minnesota's new stadium will have taken over two years to build (granted, with a more limited winter construction schedule than we have here).
No other team would do that? Must have a lot of front office connections across the league to know that. Love the inside information you have.
If you did not want to punch this guy before this will do it. This video is a gold mine. The last question is a huge nugget.
Late to the party, all apologies... Just watched the press conference and I have some random thoughts. A few weeks ago when I was talking the Crew with the Treasurer elect for Ohio he said plainly that this deal doesn’t happen without Alex Fischer. He didn’t know the exact reason why this meant so much to Fischer, but that it was very personal for him to keep the team in Columbus. Today Garber said this deal doesn’t happen without Alex Fischer. I am so very happy he wanted to save our team. I too love the fact that our club continues to be the first in so many ways. It’s amazing that we have another first with Dee being the first woman on the board of governors. I too am smitten with her. What’s not to love about a woman that is saving your team? Finally, it’s our league and everyone else is playing catch-up. It’s been that way from day one and it continues to be that way. I am optimistic that our club will flourish with our new ownership and leadership. I love you all. March 2nd means 52 days to prepare for a celebration of the greatest team the world has ever known. That is all.
