Don't make me put @ZipSix on this case! You better tweet it before that Crew front office parody account goes that route...
funny story i was reading crew twitter blow up, and was smiling as I was walking back toward my desk from the break room. one of my supervisors asked me what i was smiling about. now normally i respond "nothing", since what i am usually smiling about is a meme referencing a video game, and it would take way to explain to her. But today, i got to tell her the crew are saved and season tickets are available. good day, today.
I can remember us being so pumped for opening night of CCS in 1999. There had been much revelry before the match, and the night before. We were chanting, and drinking, and annoying, the folk in front of us (in 108). In the second half, someone failed a dexterity check and dropped their beer (big plastic cup), which improbably bounced off the top of the bench's seat back while rotating & spilling all over the backs of the folk in front of us. As we were apologizing, one of the annoyed asked, "Who ARE you people?" One of us responded "We are the people sitting behind you all year " We never saw them again. I think revelry will be at 1996 opener, 1999 CCS opener, USA-Mex, 2008 ECF levels for March 2. Got thru to my rep, Stacey (formerly Ulrich (von Lichtenstein)), who has always been great. $306 + fees for Nordecke. She said they were not calling pledges yet. She had been calling STHs who had not renewed all day, plus folks who had called in trying to get tickets since October but could not, as the freeze was on. Now, undoubtedly, some of those had taken the pledge as well (I did), but they are not working off a pledge list, per se, at the moment. 1. Renewals 2. Folks who tried to get ST earlier but were frozen out. 3. People who are calling in now that the gates are open. 4. Previous referrals. ------------- I would expect them to circle back to unfulfilled pledges and half-pack & mini-pack seekers once phones stop ringing off the hook. Stacey said her 1st outbound call was around 4:30 pm.
You know what's funny? Last Spring myticker guy called and I told him that the day he could tell me that AP was no longer the owner I would buy season tix on the spot. He replied " I'm going to hold you to that" He called me at 9:00 this morning, didn't say boo about our last conversation. Just said tickets had just gone live. I kept my word. Naturally. I just found it interesting that of all the people he could have called, I was clearly among the very first.
I feel dirty that I havent bought the tickets yet....but my travels for this summer may put me in more of the partial package instead of full.....My heart tells me to buy but my logic and wallet says I need the schedule...Why must these tickets tease me so much. How do exchanges work this year? I also havent been contacted by a rep....just got the generic email.
That's the rep my wife and I talked to, and purchased tickets from. Yes, seemed like a good guy. And similar to you, it is my birthday tomorrow!!!
There will quite likely be an early renewal discount as there has been for years and years. There's the current price (non-discounted) and the "we're about to finish the 2019 season (Yeah! or boy, it will certainly be better next year!) he's a discount so you come back and see us in 2020. Lock in the suckers (us) and then figure out how to sell to the folks who are still out there.
Not gonna lie... jealous of these ticket prices, my single ticket for section 235 in Banc of California was $1112 for the season; The 3252 (their comparable section to the Nordecke) is around $600 I think but sold out and waitlisted.
That’s what I mean - who wants to pay more? Probably very few. However, Crew tickets have always been on the least expensive end of the pro sports spectrum. Frankly, if they reinvest the money in the club, it does not bother me one iota.
I just checked my account and I am paying for East Preferred at $637.50 per seat. They are now selling for $799 per seat. That is an increase of $161.50 per seat. I am happy that Precourt is gone and tickets are finally on sale again but I am disappointed with this and not looking forward to 2020 prices. I am really happy though that I didn't wait to renew and that I was able to add on in October. There has always been a huge gap between what season ticket holders pay for east preferred tickets per game and what they are charged at per game on ticketmaster. I was hoping it would be closed the other way not this way. Oh well, I will enjoy them this year and think about 2020 when renewal time comes. On to happier times! Looking forward to just enjoying the 2019 season without possible impending doom!
I sit midfield lower tier in the sun at Mapfre. The sun sucks for a good portion of the year, but the view is perfect and my ticket is close to half what the club seats in the shade pay. I'm looking forward to the new stadium in 2021, but not to paying twice as much for a similar seat. I pay $840 for my ticket and a B lot pass. I'm hopeful the cost for a similar seat won't be much more than that. I could drop the parking pass and get down there in a different manner. I'm certainly glad I renewed my 4 seat group last year. That extra $600 we saved likely kept our numbers at 4 instead of dwindling. I'm so excited. Less than 2 months until Crewsmas!
Yeah, I'm in 107 and paid the same when renewing last year. We pay about $36 per game while the day of game price in the section is twice that, either $72 or $78 if I remember correctly. I feel the season ticket is a great deal at that price for the view it provides. I love my row 13 vantage point. High enough to see the whole field but close enough to hear and even feel the action. I wouldn't trade it for any seat in the house. Been there since 1999, plan to sit there for 2 more season and then figure out where to spend the next 20.
I usually hem and haw over larger purchases. It can take me weeks to pull the trigger. But that there was just the most goddam satisfying $1,000 I’ve ever spent.
So IM announces his seat location and says there's nothing left and he has to move. No. There's nothing suspicious about this at all.
Unfortunately, no season tickets for me - going to look into one of those 5 or 10 game batches so we can come up and see some games (Crewsmas is #1 priority). Who's going to put together the SUPERUBERMEGAELITELYMASSIVE tailgate this year for Crewsmas? I'd love to actually meet some of you folks - no fish, sorry.
