Not sure NRod would even know who the Special One is.

The Fire already has a ringmaster for it’s Circus, but It would fit Nelson’s profile. “We were in advanced negotiations with a top rier manager but we could not discuss publically as he was under contract with his current team. All signs pointed he was coming to Chicago but he regrettably decided to sign elsewhere at the last minute to pursue another opportunity.”

And I am absolutely sure of the other way around.
Despite the signing of Bastian, Jose has no clue who Nelson Rodriguez is and doesn't care to know

The Special One is on YouTube so Nelly would know who he is.

I don’t think Mourninho would do well on any team in MLS. These locker rooms would turn on him very quickly with a little losing .

and it would take REAL money to sign him. Oh wait we have a billionaire owner now, to bad we haven't heard from him since he bought 49% of the team.

It would be worth it just to see the look on Jose's face when N-Rod tells the press that they are soccer soulmates. :)

    Hiring Jose or firing Jose?

I thought the hiring of Jose was a no brainer for Manchester United, as he was the most successful, most famous coach available at the time.
However, his coaching style did not fit Manchester United and he is an asshole (of course, so was Sir Alex).

His credentials are among the best ever (2 Champions Leagues-with different teams, 2 Europa Cups-with different teams, 3 Premierships, 1 La Liga title, 2 Serie A titles, 2 Portuguese titles, 65% winning percentage for his entire career with Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United, etc.), but he never quite grabbed hold of Manchester United.

Some of his signings have been awful (Sanchez, Pogba, etc.)
    His player selection was terrible.
    His tactics have been weak.

For all of his success around Europe, he never could hold a candle to Sir Alex, nor, it seems, Pep Guardiola.

I left it vague on purpose. ;)

But in all seriousness, something else is wrong at the club and changing the manager isn’t going to fix it. He called out their issue in the summer (center backs) and it wasn’t fixed. He was then fired while their defense struggles.

Like with the Fire and our lack of CBs, the person responsible (Nelson) should be held responsible.

    Agree about all of this.

The man who needs to go is vice-chair Ed Woodward.
The Glazers have their former banker running the club.
He has said wonderful things like, “Playing performance doesn’t really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business.”

This is why I say it’s a mistake and am annoyed with short sighted fans that want a quick fix for everything.

I agree, firing the manager is never a complete fix.

I will COMPLETELY make an exception to that statement when it comes to the Chicago Fire.
In the case of the Fire, the current occupant of the coaching position has made a complete mess out of the team and squandered the fifth highest payroll in the league.

    ...and EPL sucks [of course]
