How about "good job not inflating everyone's price by saying we are hellbent on signing someone this winter"?
I don't think that Zidane has much to say. He won three straight CL in his only three seasons as a top level coach. His team was aging so he left at the peak of his career. He just wanted to ride off into the sunset. Seriously, we were not that great last season. We won because everyone else sucked, and we got some luck against Bayern Munich and Liverpool. We were not much better than this season before the series against PSG. Zidane's peak was actually in the 2006-2017 season. His team was fading with or without Ronaldo. I still remembered writing that Zidane might leave at the end of the CL Final. Some of you guys did not like it, but it would be tough for him to follow his own successes. It is not unusal for a coach to walk away in a situation liked this. Oh well, I also wrote that we could beat Di Stefano's record of 5 straight European Cup. We can still do it.
Lol wtf It is like telling people after everything we won since 5 years we need to let other clubs catch up a little, you can just close your mouths and accept to lose 2-3 years before we invest again seriously.
Top players won't be available in January anyways. Icardi, Hazard, Eriksen etc aren't leaving mid-season. Coutinho deal last season was started by Barca in the summer too with him putting in a transfer request which Liverpool initially rejected.
Butragueño’s comments are straight out of PR 101 and nothing more. No need to read into them literally.
Hello!!! If only Cadena Ser had the reputation it once had of solid reporting. This could just be a case of linking us with the top player of the team we are about to play. But lord I wish its not. If we are truly interested I think this is the type of deal we an actually do.
Round of 16 drawn up, interest in our opposition's best player in the media the next day. When have I seen this before?
This is Buitre..….. this is how he talks. There is no need to get disappointed over what he said. Plus its a good thing instead of saying "yes we want to strengthen the team in the winter window" and thus increasing the price of every player. Look...…… if we view this season as rebuilding/transition or lost season then we shouldn't make any silly purchase in January. Stay the course. Finish top 4. Test all the youngsters, i'd even get Odegaard and play him. Reload in the summer when players actually move. Of course if you or someone else thinks this season can be salvaged or should be salvaged then I understand the need for signings. And I don't disagree with that line of thinking.
if you want to be remembered, you build a legacy, so either stay and show that you are really a good coach and not only in teams that have CR in them or at least move to another club and start fresh (a-la Mourinho or Pep). saying that after 2.5 season he has nothing to accomplish is pretty bullshit, especially with our La Liga record. I think it is *very* unusual for a coach to depart like that, I almost seeing this as Zidane being afraid to fail, which makes him a bad manager.
Icardi is a small possibility. Inter are 14 points back of Juve and out of the CL. Not likely he leaves mid season but there’s a chance. I think he’s 100% gone this summer.
Ya man. Zidane's main issue is he has no legacy. Somebody should tell him that. Another good point. When people think of Zidane they think yaaa……. good guy but a bit of a coward. Good this his lack of courage will not be remembered because he doesn't have a legacy.
The man said he doesn't like to lose and quit. Fair enough. He's a proven winner though and not wanting to tarnish that legacy is probably the smartest thing to do.
I did not say that he is going to retire forever. He left the club where he probably won't achieve much more. And I don't thnk it is very unusual for a coach to do that. In the English language, there is an idoim "riding off into the sunset". If an idoim exists, it meant it happened all the day.... I heard it applied to coaches before. It is not unusual at all. In every sports after a major victory, I heard pundits, jornalists, etc talking about "is the coach going to retire?"

From the perspective of our catastrophic season so far, I can say that he couldn't be more right. He left so that the management can rebuild the team with new fresh faces. He saw that this team urgently needs serious refreshing. Mistake is in our management that relied on our world class players. I cannot lie that I also thought that with almost the same squad(-Ronaldo, +someone else and the new RB) the team can achieve at least La Liga.

He's better off staying at Spurs than going there. He will have to start from Europa League just like Mou. I'd argue Spurs have better starting XI too and Kane, Alli etc renewed.
As for ZZ, he was worn out after 2.5 years of media responsibilities and expectations to win which all RM/Barca managers go through. One year sabbatical will be good for him. I wish he could comeback next summer and take over a new project with the likes of Hazard. He's most comfortable at RM and has had personal friendship with Flo for almost 2 decades now. If Allegri stays at Juve, his options could be limited too.
