Talk of a possible club sale has caused the planed protests to be called off. It's just as well if last week's 11th minute entry is any indication. The toon can't miss their Magpies, even at 14th in the table. The loss to West Ham has put us on the wrong side of a bottom-of-table gap. The good news is that we're still better than six other clubs. If we do anything significant in the January window, I feel confident of ending the season that way.

Dummet's back, which should be helpful. The back line has shown its depth, except at left back. Shelvey might start, since he's fully rested. I expect him to try to show his worth now that Ki has given the side the stability and consistency he's lacked. That could be good or bad. I almost wish we had a sub for Diame, because he hasn't been Diame the Destroyer for a while, but we can't do without him. The front line has gotten enough service the last few weeks, but has very little to show for it. Will Rondon or Muto please show up and do your job?

Well, that was disappointing. There's been a lot of moaning about the red card and the lack of penalty for that crushing elbow that Ayoze took. I'm OK with the red card. Lascelles was behind the attacker, if more central. The rules have to penalize intentional fouls in those situations. It's better than a penalty, but still sunk us. On the other hand, that elbow shouldn't be allowed either, regardless if it wasn't intentional.

The momentum is gone again. We're going to be desperate for some points against Huddersfield. When it comes to sorting out the bottom six clubs, the one's who took care of business against the weaker teams will survive. It should be us, but the more we waste opportunities, the less confident I am in that prediction.
