That'd be global simultaneous premiere! On the DVR for us.

Been watching this show since the 80's.. Can say this with all confidence. This season is some of the most unwatchable crap i've ever seen. Terrible stories, no classic monsters, no connection whatsoever to the Whoverse.

That being said, i think the new Doctor is very interesting and enjoyable. She's just saddled with a trio of companions that make Adric look like the best thing since slice bread.

Highly disappointed in what i'm seeing..

Chris Chibnall back in 1986 (he's the one wearing the yellow tie):

I agree with every word, and could have written this myself, with one exception. I started watching when it was first broadcast in America in the late '70's.

It took me about 5 minutes to warm up to Jodie Whitaker and stop thinking of her as "The Lady Doctor" and just as "The Doctor." That is the best thing I can say.

As for companions, Yaz could be okay (having a cop as a companion could be helpful), the other two are useless.

I watched the video - I'm not sure if that's a good sign in that I knew exactly which episodes the fans were talking about when they were complaining. The episodes written by Pip and Jane Baker were a low point in the series for me. After that last episode of "Trial of a Time Lord", I was completely "WTF?" Too bad Robert Holmes died before he could finish it. "The Two Doctors" was tons of fun, and he wrote good stuff going back to the Pertwee episodes.

But it's funny how Chris Chibnall was complaining about too many stories where they were running up and down corridors with scary monsters, but there were at least two episodes in Series 37 which came to mind which met that exact description - the one where they were on the spaceship running up and down corridors from a scary (ok, kind of cute) monster that was eating the ship, and the one where they were in a hotel complex running up and down corridors from scary spiders.

And I just learned that there was a New Year's Day episode that I didn't catch due to travel - it scrolled off my tivo while I was gone. So I know what I'm doing for the next hour.
