When: Thursday, December 13 at 3:00pm EST Where: Emirates TV: B/R live. Check local Spanish tv as well The group is won so not much to play for other than pride, individual goals and the streak. I assume we will see mostly the same team as vorskla.
I love watching a young team roll out there. Harkens me back to the youth team days of Denilson and Bendtner in the Carling Cup.
Sokratis is ruled out for EPL Sunday, so don't be surprised if he features Thursday. Also, originally Emery said he was targeting Qarabag for Koscielny's first team return. Since then that Holding picked up a season-ending injury so who knows. But... It would be interesting to play Sokratis + Kos Thursday in a back 4, which would give them one match to reacquaint themselves, and at the same time give Kos a chance to test his match fitness.
Ooh, good one. But he made like 10 appearances. Park Chu-Young made one (maybe a few more?) and left his hotel room either right before or in the middle of a medical with Lille to sign for Arsenal and then never played. So random.
nothing said WTF!?!? like the last day of the January 2014 transfer window. That being said, if you have 5-10minutes, I recommend reading this fantastic first hand account of Kim's time at Arsenal. Tons of little nuggets of goodness in this: http://www.punditarena.com/football/jmurphy/kim-kallstrom-arsenal/
Most of these are defensible as: 1) fliers on young players, OR 2) cheap signings for depth. WITH ONE GLARING EXCEPTION. Lucas Perez is the one that makes no least sense: it was for a lot of money, he was older, well-known, and he barely played because he was more one footed than a pirate with a peg leg. It looks like a complete screwup.
This conversation is really getting off-topic, but I’ll say that if books are ever written with backstories covering Wenger’s transfer busts, and also on busted transfers (notables we “almost signed” and why we really lost them), I would purchase and read them instantly.
Great find. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. What most struck me was the portrayal of Wenger - totally managing and dictating the direction of the club, but not knowing whether Kallstrom was good at taking PKs...yet putting blind faith in the players at key moments. For both good and bad, it’s vintage Wenger.
This gets a pass due to his 15 minute appearance and making a PK against Wigan in the FA Cup semis in 2014.
Can't watch on Univision or Galavision, both are blocked on DISH, as the ongoing carriage dispute between Univision and Dish continues on with pretty much no end in sight, even the local affiliate (KUNS channel 54, Seattle) is blocked so no go.
The Captain returns. If I had to bet, he'll get 45 and then be pulled off for the game at the weekend.
Is this on Galavision? Office party is today, thinking of ducking out early to watch at least a half of this and then go to the party.
Enjoy!! Hope cheap ticket prices get enough fans out to make the lower bowl mostly filled. Myself, I may have to skip this one live. Yes, I know... shocking!
My DVR guide says it's on Univision (Spanish) at 2:50pm ET, and also a replay on GolTV (English) at 10pm Friday.
