If that was his reputation before, then I'd say he cranked it up to the max for this tie. He was rolling on the ground in agony so many times, I thought Neymar was in the house.

There is no excuse for fans throwing anything on the pitch, maybe even paper airplanes. ;) But that's not what we were talking about, we were talking about cheaters. This was discussed in the MLS conf.finals PBP thread. Several people (who are more neutral than I) called him out for this.

I was sitting above where Almiron got "hit" and it looked like an orange glove was thrown. This lightweight textile grazed the side of his head. So Almiron acted like his eyeball was lacerated. As if he was Boca's captain who, in the bus attack, actually had glass shrapnel cut his eye. Note: Almiron quickly recovered 100% from this, as he did with all of his other dire injuries.

He seems a pretty talented footballer. My point is that he should apply his talents towards the game, not towards deceitful play-acting.

If you want to continue this debate, let's do it in some more appropriate other place.

But yeah - it gets much better when they are like 3-4

And you get your life back when they are like 12 :p

    Agreed

There was quite a funny comment from Schurrle in the Guardian this week who was attributing his team's better form to focus on defence.

elite performance really is that elusive star dust

Yeah. I get the feeling he might be done.

There has to be more than a suspicion of chronic injury now and he is over the 500 game mark for mileage

Imagine what might have been if Wumger had invested in elite strikers back when RvP left

Great performance, nothing more to say other than that. Also if anyone knows where I can buy that jacket Emery wears let a bro know.

One thing I would like to say that Torreira is the one player we lacked in the past 10 yrs. Has to be signing of the year in the EPL imo. Salute to all the players. Glad to see my yute Bellerin getting it together under Emery. Couple more windows and this may be a contender yet.

Hey guys, it’s getting better. We lost a night sleep on the labor and then of course dealing with the newborn and now my parents coming into town makes it hard to catch up on sleep with naps.

I did manage to catch the game live (watched Bournemouth while the wifey was laboring). My wife saw the score at half and takes the baby and puts on an arsenal onesie we’d bought. Guess she is our good luck charm:

That’s great advice. Only problem is that when the baby sleeps is the only time you can get shit done.

Thank for the details and the encouragement. We are working through it, just way harder than we expected.

One last observation, for those who have questioned whether Holding is athletic enough. Early I the game Holding stayed stride for stride with Son on a run into the box. Son got a shot off, but Holding was pressuring him and it was an easy save for Leno. Last week when Son scored his goal against Chelsea, he made Jorginho look like he was running in quicksand.

Seriously cute! (even though she's giving you a look like "why'd you put me in this... what if I wanna support United?!")

And here I thought my gear was our good luck charm today...

The issue was ozil, he cannot play with Ramsey

However, emery does not like ozil so Ramsey could play here imo

    I love this.

Dier and Alli can go fvck themselves as far as I’m concerned.

    Vertonghen, too.

    Kane.

    Winks.

    Sissoko.

    Those guys, also.

Yes, yes, yes, the other guy always dives.

So is there no excuse or not? You certainly seem to be dismissing it.

    Seems? Lol.

They both need to play in the same spot. It’s great that we have them both, although we can’t afford them both. I’d take Ozil over Ramsey though.

I liked Laca on the right with Auba centrally. I think that actually might work for us.

They have committed big money to Özil and under emery ... both can’t play together

Although I have really enjoyed Özil... for his money ... I expect more from him

As someone with a four year old, I will say it gets worse (and I'll take your word for it that it gets better). My four year old is a lot of fun though.
