I lost my feed a bit ago, but was not going to be able to listen much longer anyway. I think we're mainly missing Darida as a link between defense and offense. When we get the ball into the final third we are okay and our defense is doing okay (Novak's positioning was off a few times on the left). Still we at least look like a team that can reasonably compete against other decent teams.
Vydra should have scored that wow. I'd rather have Vydra under Schick than Dockal. I know Dockal is a threat with this set pieces, and vision, but he does very little all game imo
Vydra seems to be playing everywhere but right wing. Hopefully Darida is brought on. Need that link from the midfield to the attack. We generally still look far more composed and organized than we ever did under Jarolim.
Kalas and Darida coming on. Brabec, and Soucek coming off. I am excited to see Darida again. It's been so long.
We're are incredibly lucky the pitch is terrible. Lewandowski had a tap in and he missed it when it bounced over his foot.
Poland have dominated since our goal. Good chance for us to practice playing with and protecting a lead.
Yea we have definitely invited pressure. The plan seems to be score a goal, then defend it. We did the same against Slovakia.
Bit lucky to win, but also a bit unlucky not to win by more than 1. Either way, these are results we weren't getting a few months ago so cautiously optimistic.
The result yesterday certainly sets up a showdown on Monday. A draw should be enough for us, as I believe the first tiebreaker is head-to-head, which favours us. Though I think any game against Slovakia is a must-win anyways. Remaining in League B will also help our seeding ahead of the draw for Euro 2020 qualifying. We'd be placed in Pot 3 if we were relegated to League C. I wouldn't change much to the team that started against Poland. I'd first bring in Darida for Pavelka (a bit harsh since he hasn't played poorly) and then Kalas to play next to Celustka.
A draw and we are through, but we managed to win in Slovakia so I see no reason not to win this. We have the better team, but Slovakia have a lot more to play for. Being relegated to the C league would be embarrassing.
I do believe that we have the better 11 but Slovakia still has a few players that on their day can take over a match, so definitely expecting a tough match. We should be able to at least get a draw playing at home though.
The lineup from the Poland match, but with Kalas and Vaclik instead of Brabec and Pavlenka. Slovakia lining up with a 4-3-3, they know they need a win so hopefully we can take advantage of the space in midfield.
We've given Hamsik an uncontested shot from just outside the box twice, that's not a winning strategy. We also really need to just possess the ball a bit, a lot of shaky passes out of the back.
Yep, so is Brabec to be honest... on the plus side Celustka has made the most of his recent opportunities. If you combined Brabec's passing with Kalas physique you'd almost have a good CB, but both have glaring weaknesses. Schick!!
After a woeful first 20 minutes we slowly evened out the match, and since the goal the space has opened up for us. Need to keep it up to start the 2nd half.
