Sorry for double posting but this morning I got my Rebula V1 JP in the mail and first impression is... I love it. Haven’t had the chance to try them out on the field yet though. First game of the season this weekend so i’ll try to break them in even a little before then. On-feet i’d say the closest they compare to in terms of fit and feel is the adidas X 18.1 but with a lot sturdier heel. Certainly narrower than the Magista Obra, Phantom VSN, and Hypervenom Phantom 3.
So, is anybody in the market for a pair of Morelia Runbirds? I have a pair in 27.5 cm that I bought from a guy on bigsoccer early in the summer...a torn ACL later and I still haven't worn them, and I'm looking to thin my collection now. About to post a a thread in the Swapshop but wanted to post in here for the enthusiasts. PM for a price/pics if you're interested!
These look sexy too and the history of the boot https://www.mizuno.jp/football/morelia?ad=fbtw20181116 coming out next week
I'm not 100% but some stores say it will be limited edition to 1000 in Japan and some stores calling it special model. Some stores are taking pre order now and Kamo seems to have sold out. Just got the wave legend so it will be difficult to convince my wife to order another one so soon
I know them feels man. Limited edition releases aren't great but it gives the company guaranteed sales.
Got email earlier today saying my Wave Cup Legends have a shipping delay. Won't get it till early December at the earliest
This Australian football store still has a lot of Wave Cup Legends in stock still https://www.ultrafootball.com/products/mizuno-wave-cup-legend-limited-edition
a friend of mine who ordered from prodirect received an email stating that his order was canceled because of issues with the manufacture and they will not receive any shipments. Anyone else received such notice from other stores? I'm glade that I ordered mine from Japan but feel bad about others not getting theirs.
That sucks. Them and futbolemotion seem to have had the same problem. I wonder if the stores accidently oversold their stock and blamed the manufacturer. I only say this because at my old job we were always told to blame the manufacturer when we oversold Pre-orders.
well different is that futbolemotion said that Mizuno had shipping problems and didn't cancel any orders (yet..) they just said they were willing to cancel any orders if we didn't want to wait. But I guess they probably did over sell and are hoping enough people cancel.
Phew, so my Wave Cups came in too. Seriously best boots out there and they've recaptured the magic of the 25th anniversary Morelias for me. If anyone wants to read my quick thoughts, i have a short review up here: https://boothype.com/2018/11/12/review-mizuno-wave-cup-legend-made-in-japan/ Also, regarding Ultrafootball, they're super legit, have bought stuff from there. the website i write for also has a 10% discount code (BoothHype10) off from there!
Super tempted but AUD $500 ($360-ish American) is a little too steep for me, what with Black Friday coming up at the end of the week. If anyone happens to change their mind, I can take a pair off your hands new or used. Haha, not kidding! Hit me up if you’re a size 250.
I apologize for the double post but I just want this to be in a separate message. I got my MIJ Rebula V1 about 2 and a half weeks ago but I only got to try it out for a 2-hour practice session last weekend. The recent wildfires in California has effectively cancelled all outdoor activitied due to horrible air quality. Anyway, I can’t say too much because all I did in them was do some passing/dribbling/shooting drills with a teammate. I’ve yet to try them out in a game. What I can say for now is this: I love them. They fit my feet perfectly. I love how padded they are (IMO they are not thin), the responsiveness is excellent, and the leather at the toebox softened up real nice. A little chafing at the heel but honestly only a select few silos do not give me hot spots. Even the suede-lined MIJ Neo 2 gave me a little blister. After about 2 hours of using them, I put on my (at this point) trusty Phantom VSNs and I actually found those to be a little too...flimsy. Soleplate too soft, and upper too pliable. I guess the Rebula is just that solid feeling on-feet. TL;DR the MIJ Rebula reminds me of a well-worn HV Phantom 3... and an X 18.1. It’s super high-quality leather but on my feet with the ball they honestly don’t feel like leather to me. And that’s what I love about it the most.
