Not to turn this into the Nike thread but I found the New Hypervenoms really hard to lace with the fly wire loops! I had to watch a YouTube video on how to do it lol. The Predators aren’t hard to lace it’s just really fiddly getting your hand inside the boots so they’ve had no laces in for about 6 months because I gave up far too easily as I had other pairs. I will get it done though!

It’s to pay for Kroos and Dybala endorsements.

definitely for Dybala where its the first time he's ever worn leather for a competitive game.

for Kroos they probably promised to lift whatever voodoo spell they put on him starting from WC and how crap Madrid have been so far.

Speaking of Kroos, adidas might get him into the new Copa silo, but he's not going to give up his OG traxion studs and sole plate...

I wish Adidas would have gone with this white colour for the release of the Copa, instead of the off-white, which makes it look a lot less classy than Kroos' version.

Random - but has anyone else’s Predator 18+ starting to smell like cat pee? I think it’s from them getting really wet and it’s the glue (Nike had this problem not sure if they still do) any tips on getting rid of it? I’ve tried Frebreeze, Shoe deodorant and my next effort was Crep Protect odour Pills but those are going to cost me £7. Any tips on how to get rid of the smell because they really do stink at the moment.

    A few options
A: Stuff them with newspaper and sprinkle some baking soda + essential oil of your choice
B: Shoe Trees (although they might stretch out your boots)
    C: Kill your cat

:D I remember tumble dryer sheets being suggested a few years ago. It has to be the glue because the insoles don’t smell it’s just the boot.

I’ll give that a go because I don’t really want to have to pay £7 for something that probably doesn’t work very well & won’t last very long. I watched a review of them and the guy said they smelt of lavender so maybe that’s the essential oil to go for fingers crossed!

    So, I couldn't resist pre-ordering the new Copa 19.1, and they've just arrived! :D

They are not what I expected, but not in a bad way really. Judging by the pictures I thought they'd be super soft all around, with an almost pillowy feeling. However, I feel like the primeknit base make them a bit stiffer than a traditional leather boot would. They fit very snug on my feet and feel very responsive, but I'm hoping they'll stretch a little width-wise. The upper feels a bit padded, both the leather and 'fusionskin'.

I don't really care for the heel cup in the insole, but I will try changing them for a pair of Mizunos, to compare with. The burrito tongue doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but I'm still a bit on the fence about it.

Bear in mind, I haven't trained in them yet, but I will later tonight, so I could give you an update after that.

Actually, this is the second pair, because my usual 8 UK size was a smidge too big, returned them for half a size down and they are a much better fit.

Man, as awful as I thought the new Copas looked in leaked shots, I can't help but want to try them out. I'm so susceptible to marketing hype. Anyone get a chance to see them or try them on yet? I'm like a size 8.75 in Adidas and don't feel like ordering two pairs to see which one fits better.

I got a pair of 19.1, and I like them so far. The sizing for me is a bit of a hassle however, since my feet are pretty wide. The width in 8UK were better, but they were too long. I switched them for a half size down, and they hurt my feet a bit at the moment, both by being too narrow and a little short. If your feet are normal width the boots should fit you well.

I really, really hope I can stretch them out a bit, but I'm worried since the leather don't come all the way around.

Good to know, thanks. My feet are like, wide-ish... I can normally wear most boots without a problem, but Adidas sizing has always been hit or miss for me. I have two pairs of Purespeeds, one in 8.5 and one in 9, and they're both just a little off. I actually think my right foot is a half size bigger than my left, which is also problematic. I'll problem buy them drunk over the weekend. I'll post pictures!

I just want to say thanks - the essential oil and some kitchen paper (didn't have any newspaper) has done the trick for the cat pee smell in my predators. I opted for lavender oil in the end. My boots never seem to smell, i got the neon yellow predators from a friend and they are in really good condition they just stank! so thanks for the suggestion.

Same problem for me, my right foot is killing me, but my left seems pretty fine. I think (and hope) that the 19.1 are just a bit slower to break in than traditional leather boots.

I've worn them in a bit more since my last post and they are starting to feel pretty damn comfortable. Still can't say too much since I've only worn them in one training session so far. The responsiveness and locked in feeling makes these feel more like speed boots than traditional leather boots however, just with a lot more padding. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Depends on what you like I guess.

Be ready for a somewhat rough break in period before they start feeling good. The heel tab might give you some chafing as well.

But all in all, it feels like nothing I've worn before.

Can add my take on the Copa 19+. I'm usually hardcore Mizuno but when Laceless Leather boots came out i just had to get them.

One word: Absolutely amazing! Just tight enough around the midfoot, with some of the softest leather you can find, I would go so far to put them up with the Mizuno MIJs which is quite the achievement. I would go so far to put them as my top boot at the moment, they are that good.

I’d really like to try these boots out but I’m a little hesitant based on some of the things you’ve mentioned and I’ve seen SR4U mention about the narrowness and stiffness of the heel and mid foot area. I’ve been wearing the Legend 7 elite for the past year or so now and I absolutely love them; so much so that the future 2.1 lows and predator 18.1 I bought have only been worn twice. I find myself definitely wanting to stick with leather these days.

While I am leaning towards getting another pair of tiempos, especially since I fear the legend 8 may end up with a friggin high cut collar; is the copa 19.1 just as good of not better than the tiempo?

Also concerned about the sizing because my tiempos in a US 9 fit pretty perfect to my foot. I have an 8.5 in the predator which length wise seems great (although would be better if the upper was leather and could stretch), it pinched the outside of my midfoot And cause cramping where the 3 stripes are. Just wondering because I can’t try them on now that both soccer stores in my areas have closed shop.

Are your feet wide? Do you need a lot of room for your toes? If yes- then you're the same as me, and you're probably going to have some trouble breaking them in. I would argue that the Copa 19.1 are not as 'forgiving' towards every foot shape as a traditional leather boot is. As of right now, I've worn them for three full training sessions as well as a couple of times at home, where I took a foot bath with them. They have softened up really well, and they feel fantastic to wear, except for the lack of vertical volume in the toebox. I've gotten a black toenail just from the pressure alone, and getting them even to this point has been a real pain.

I'm still hoping they will stretch some more, both in the toebox as well as the midfoot, because if they do, I think I'd really love them.
The locked in responsiveness you get, paired with the padded feel of the upper is just fantastic.

But, If you're happy with the Tiempo, I would go with another pair of those. Unless you're really keen to wear the three stripes, I'd argue that the break-in process, as well as the finicky sizing, is not worth it for a player with wide feet.
The Tiempo seem like a great boot, and the only reason I haven't tried them, is because I don't wear boots with bladed studs.

Thanks for the advice. I would say my foot is on the wide side, although the leather in the forefoot and toe box on the copa seems thin and soft enough to accommodate my foot. I am mainly concerned about the heel and mid foot being comfortable, and it sounds like they start pretty rough. I will probably stick with tiempos

What are our hopes on these? £85, surely they can’t have a decent lockdown? Adidas struggle to get a decent lockdown with their top of the range boots. Apparently these are laceless to the masses!

Though I think the top-end Pred 19+ and 19.1 is a sleek silhouette, this 19.3 just looks butt ugly. Looks like an Ali Express exclusive if you ask me. But hey, they know marketing and i’m pretty sure this is going to sell great if not good.

I find it interesting its being produced in kids sizes where I think it will sell well. But I'm with you looks like a really cheap boot.
