It has to be something pretty spectacular for him to go "full Trump" after saying:

I saw an article late in the Kavanaugh process that traced LG's anti-Trumpism to Trump's attack on McCain, who was LG's semi-Mentor in the Senate. McCain begins dying, leaving LG without a big man to attach himself to in order to advance his career/improve his status. So he goes all in and doubles down in support of Trump.

IOW, it's a career move. We'll see if Trump rewards him with something like, say, the AG post after he fires Sessions.

 

Hmm, a confirmed bachelor who is also a conservative Christian ... whatever could it be? Seems pretty bloody obvious to me - what do Republican politicians have a history of hiding in their closets?

 

I just don't get why being an AG for 2 years (most likely) is better than being a Senator for at least 2 years and in all probability as long as he wants to be.

 

Maybe he's worried he can't beat Nikki Haley in 2020.

That's an interesting take I hadn't considered. If her goal is the WH (and I think it is), I'm not sure how smart it would be to go after Graham's seat. Trump may get bored with all of this. In which case I could see her run for POTUS in 2020. I can't see Pence beating her. Otherwise make a lot of money in the private sector, keep a high profile and go after Scott in 2022.

On one thing not factored in with Trump. Hitler and Mussolini went heavily into spending money and future monies on infrastructure and jobs. Whereas the Great Pumkin has used money he doesn't have to give massive amounts of it to people and companies who donate to him. Hoping to get it back by taking from people who need it. Who needs infrastructure or even a job.
