    I am a neutral fan with a passion for football.

    Where I live now (NZ) have no passion for football at all, I took my 4 years boy to Buenos Aires in Sept 2017 and watched few games, incl home game for River and Boca

    It was amazing experience, what was more amazing is that my boy fall to sleep during the Boca games.

    So far, the only pricing I have got is USD2000 per person for Bombonera. We will be watching from TV.

    I think one of Fox's channels will show it. Definitely would be Fox Deportes ... maybe even FS1 or 2 if they fell like it will get enough non-hispanic audience.

    I hope so cause I just checked the guide and it's not listed. That would be a shame.

    It's probably not listed because of issues concerning the scheduling of the matches. At first, it was going to be on a Wednesday -- then it got moved to Saturday. Then they proposed moving it again to Sunday.

    It was just barely confirmed hours ago that the matches in the end will be on Saturday, Nov. 10 & 24 at 12:00 PM PST.

    I would be surprised if they didn't show it, but if not you might have to resort to an online streaming service like Fanatiz

    There's always a stream. I've been following this year's Libertadores matches on live streams which (most of the time) worked quite well.

    I would imagine on a Saturday FOX will manage to find some Mexican league game that will get them better ratings in the US than a Copa Libertadores final. I'm not going to complain, I made the choice to live in this soccer shithole. And at any rate, the streams surely can't be worse than the vertically challenged black and white TV that we used to watch soccer back when I was a kid.

    CONMEBOL has formally requested that national federations who have players in Boca Juniors or River Plate not to cap them for the November FIFA friendlies. Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia recently had players who are members of one of these two teams be selected for national team duty, and CONMEBOL wishes that both teams be at full strength for the two-legged final.

    It's clearly directed to Uruguay only since Colombia doesn't play and the Argentina coach already said he wouldn't call anyone like a week ago.

    I think Uruguay will end up accepting since Nandez and Mayada aren't that important for them anyway.

    Whatever works for both teams - this is a Libertadores final, and given the context of the occasion, other than injury or suspension, neither team wants to get to game day at less than full strength.

    With 4 childhood friends (one bostero, one gallina, three neutrals), on a beach house in Miramar in the middle of a little getaway for a despedida de soltero... :cool:

    How are you going to be watching the final?

    River's line-up is yet to be confirmed, but will look like this:

    Armani;
    Montiel-Maidana-Pinola-Casco;
    I. Fernandez or Zuculini-E. Perez-Palacios
    .........................................................Pity Martinez;
    Santos Borre-Pratto;
    Note that Ponzio will be absent due to injury, while Scocco is in serious doubt (at best, he'll just make it on the bench since he hasn't trained regularly all week).

    Many of River's players will have to be careful, as receiving just one yellow card will leave them without a spot in the return leg -- the two CB's (Maidana and Pinola) are the primary concern, and it's hard to imagine either of them --if not both-- ending such a match without a booking. Enzo Perez will also have to be careful to avoid bookings, while Pratto, Borre, and Pity Martinez are the remaining 3 that are on the verge of suspension (although less likely to see a card given their roles).

    On Boca's side, Pablo Perez (known for getting cards every game), Nandez, Olaza, and Pavon are the ones who'll have to be careful.

    Apparently the Chilean ref is known for giving cards. Hopefully he takes it easy tomorrow, because it would be a shame for such key players on both sides to miss the return leg of such a historic event.

    A lot of rain in Buenos Aires. The pitch isn't looking too good right now. I don't understand why they didn't put a tarp.

    Edit: Looking better now, guess it's draining. CONMEBOL will be checking later but right now don't have plans to suspend.

    The pitch continues to drain well at least. They're talking about postponing a couple hours but I think another line or storms might arrive. If they want to get this game in they should just go at the scheduled time while it's relatively clear as I don't think it will get any better if they wait.

    To quote the intendant of the Bombonera -- "Despreocúpense, el campo está bien. Está soportando... El campo drenó bien" :ROFLMAO:

    It would kind of be a shame to play in these conditions, because it'd just be ugly football: there's no way the ball will roll, it would just be long cross after long cross from both sides.

    However, I also think it'd be kind of ridiculous to postpone a freaking final the day of.

    You could partially blame CONMEBOL for this.. the forecast had been anticipating rainfall for Satuday all week, yet they wanted that specific date for $$$ reasons. Well......

    As of now...

    [IMG]

    Postponing the game later in the date would only make thing much worse (the match is supposed to be played between 5-7PM local time; the storm fall is due to intensify right at the end of the match)

    That means really the only options are playing it at the scheduled time, or postponing it (next Saturday?). However, there are also chances of rain throughout the rest of the week, including next weekend.

    Maybe not. Now they're saying delayed? I hate South American journalists. Always giving speculation as fact. How about confirming stuff straight from the horses mouth? :rolleyes:
