...at all? Any word on if anyone can tell if the ASL has been doing on? Or if anyone would notice if they went on or didn't? The ASL has not even been able to do its own communications in an age when everybody can do PR. They have been the absolute dregs of the wannabe leagues (among those that have actually taken the field).
Here's where Dipshit Dennis Justice chimes in that he owns the domain americanpremierleague.com, which he thinks entitles him to be on the vanguard of the New World Order.
NISA has announced four clubs for 2019 so far, but none of them seem to have information about an owner or stadium situation publicly available. That sounds...dicey.
Different. But they've lost two of their co-founders. One died and another is working on a USL project.
It's obvious evidence of USSF bias. The fact they would not just rubber-stamp this league shows they're in MLS/USL's pocket.
Yea lines up - financial concerns around one group and a different group has a stadium with a field that is slightly narrow which would require a waiver. However that stadium would be a very cool location for said team and IMO shouldn’t really be an issue unless you own the Union https://t.co/W25vWd8CRn— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) January 21, 2019
If it's Philadelphia and it's the Atoms and Matt Driver is behind it, the owners of the Union have eff-all to worry about.
Pretty sure Mr. Driver is the owner of the Philly team. I know Sugarman is a crap owner and all, but he’s miles better then Driver.
NISA Update: I hear from multiple sources that @NISALeague have been able to demonstrate they can satisfy the concerns left as follow up items from the last board meeting. In theory this should put them in a good position for at least provisional sanctioning by next board meeting— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) January 29, 2019
You think Chris is paid to leak this gossip, or he does it for free because he enjoys being Mr. Know It All?
I think he just enjoys talking about this stuff. I disagree with Chris on the big questions, but I'm glad he reports/comments on the minor leagues.
USSF grants the league sanctioning. League kicks off in August. I give it one season before they wise up and switch to a summer schedule. http://midfieldpress.com/2019/02/16/breaking-nisa-sanctioned-by-ussf-to-start-in-august/
That 2 month break is going to kill any momentum the league manages to get. Also February is going to be brutal for the northern teams.
How often, exactly, do lower-level leagues "fully participate in the international transfer market?" Such. Idiocy. Catnip for the prawns, but a ridiculous justification.
Last year Connecticut had snow in April and November. Today we got 2 inches of the white stuff. The casinos are going to have to give away a lot of comps in order to make playing in a former AA-baseball Park in an industrial park work.
It's too bad that playing a summer season keeps MLS from participating fully in the international transfer market. Otherwise, Almiron could've made a big money move to the Prem and not been stuck in podunk Atlanta. Oh, wait...
This is what I don't get. What's "holding back" Scandanavian countries in continental competition isn't their schedule, it's their size/money/pedigree. I live in a region with a really long growing season and even I - with a financial investment in my local club - would have second thoughts about sitting on metal bleachers in February.
