Doesn't look like DC wants to go into 5th gear for this, which is understandable with a playoff game just 3/4 days away.

Maybe the game plan is to grind it out and go to 5th gear late when Chicago may become bored and unmotivated. Otherwise I'd love to see Mattocks and Stieber come on ASAP because they don't need to preserve energy.

I don't understand what Olsen is waiting on. We have a short turn around. Its past time that a sub or two should have been made.

He's been holding onto his subs for quite a few games now.
Good time wasting by Acosta a couple of times.

Back in July when I got back from my travels overseas, had you told me we'd be having a home game in the playoffs at Audi Field, I would have laughed in your face most rudely.

    Unreal close to the season.

Good enough was good enough today.

Looks like the Crew will be coming if the results hold.

Didn't think I would be typing this, but Brillant was my MOTM.

Win at Home. Tie when you're playing Away. Not a great game offensively, but the wind was swirling around and taking the ball wherever. We played a team with some veteran players that have a lot of personal pride and they were playing front of their home crowd in their last game. Tough to beat a team like that.

Messy, but mission completed. The wind, the cold, the miserable pitch all had the hallmarks of a trap game. Would have love Brillant to get the tap in, but he saved the bacon so many times at the other end that you really can't complain. Of all the starters, NDL looked poor. He was getting turned by Edwards and Katai all game long. Nicky -- it takes more.

Congratulations to the team for closing the season with a 10 game unbeaten streak. A lot of hard work, and they rewarded the fans with at least one home playoff game. I'm getting my tickets now.

Not sure if anybody noticed but all the teams who were already eliminated and had nothing to lose either won or lost by a one goal margin (only Chicago tied). The tie did not cost us anything but all the teams that lost to some already eliminated team did that at a high cost. Atlanta lost the SS, Dallas lost 3rd place, Portland lost 4th place, Galaxy lost a playoff spot that was within easy reach (especially after the 2-0 in the first half). The only team that didn't really "lose" anything is Montreal, as they were going out regardless with a Columbus win. You can never trust teams that have nothing to lose.

Competent result. Chicago has been in good form recently and they matched up well with DCU. It was a miserable weather and a waterlogged field. I liked the play in the back.

Chicago did not look like a really bad team the two times they played us. They played is better than anyone the past couple months except Philly, whenever that home loss was.

And you could count our draw against Chicago lucky, too. That Mora handball could have cost us.

Sorta. That was really really early. I promise you, if we were down and chasing a chance for a draw that would get us a home game, I promise you we would have done some things differently. Not that we surely would have won, but it would have changed our tactics a lot. We closed up shop the last 10 minutes... and in a sense we did it for a lot of the 2nd half.

Maybe, but Edwards and Katai were having their way with him. Also, the fact that Brillant was cleaning up messes in the back means attackers were getting by the outside backs.

Looks like Columbus fans will be able two see their team play against us in two different stadiums this year, Audi Field and back a few months ago, Annapolis.

Nick played a real good game but he have tired in the last 15 minutes or so and got beat a couple times. Undestandable given the long layoff.

The weather was a huge factor. I'm pretty sure the heavy rain kicked in about half-time, and the wind may have picked up too. As a result we were at a huge disadvantage in the second half.
