Yeah, I should have specified I was excited for the 'regular' version of the boot.

I agree about laceless and high-cut boots, I can't wait for that trend to disappear. It's even worse doing it to a boot with the Copa name. Absolute sacrilege...

Considering the picture you posted, it looks like you might be right.
But when it comes to pure performance, I wouldn't mind if the new boot is a Tiempo-copy, as the reason I'm not wearing those are the bladed studs. Adidas however seem to favour conical ones on theirs.

Still I wish there was a traditional tongue, so I could give the boot the 'Totti'-treatment.

Picked up these bad boys at my local outlet for only $80. My last Adidas boot was the 2013 Adizero, feels good to be back in the Three Stripes :)

Lucky...the Adidas outlets near me always carry low grade cleats if any. Last time they had the copa 17.2 and were selling almost retail price :(

They went the Tiempo route, it's good for both the marketing and the technical sides as it seems a serious competitor to the Tiempo and even a better one.

I personally don't see myself wearing this, as I'm an old school guy, that's why I chose Premier, but can easily see this boot having a great success, if adidas promotes this boot with numerous players as Nike does with the Tiempo, it'll be a big hit.

I'm really liking the look of the upper. Seems to be perfect for players looking for a cushioned feel on the ball. Too bad about the 'monotongue' though.

Not happy about the studs not being completely round either, makes me worry about getting stuck in the ground.

Maybe these will be alright anyway?

Hoping these will be available with an AG-stud pattern as well.

Does the tiny sock/liner look decent? I remember with the X 15.1 they got a sock like that all wrong with it being made out of a sort of wetsuit material. It just didn't grip your foot. Personally I had so much trouble with it slipping I had to give up on the boot. Have they got it right this time?

I think they look great, and judging by the pics (there are more if you go on instagram), it looks like the tongue is open on one side?
I gotta say, I'm excited. I just wish the leather would go up a bit higher on both sides of the boot, but maybe it won't be too noticeable on feet.

The womens colourway looks really good as well...

I agree, but I'm a bit skeptical about the lack of leather. I feel like there could be too much of a difference between materials at the cut off point, which might make the boots uncomfortable.

If that tongue is made out of leather it might work out anyways...

wow. I'm testing out the Copa 18.1s and feel super underwhelmed by them but these look clearly in the right direction. Like the return to some a more padded looking upper with a 'control' element style padding on the instep. Not too sure how i feel about burrito style tongues but as long as that stupid compression fit tongue on the 17 and 18s are gone I'm willing to give em a shot.

Love the look of the new Copa. Reminds me of the Adipure III. I have the 18.1's and I hate the tall tongue.

The only bad thing about the Copa that I can see is the soleplate, in my opinion. It looks so cheap, like the soleplates you get on the lowest tier Adidas models

What do you expect from adidas, not putting any thought into the soleplate.

Funny. It seems like they’re over-hyping this, a Predator with a leather vamp. Other people in a different part of the world have been experiencing this. The boots aren’t even great in my opinion, just good.

Imagine hyping something that should have been standard issue from the start. Not to mention making it a limited release...

haha mayte did you get a chance to try them?

they can't cause, if they did that no one would buy the Copa 18.1s. the leather preds are wayyyy superior be it fit and touch.

I guess not, which is why they're changing up the Copa 19s so much.

jokes aside, i think people do because they're really cheap and discounted so quite a few kids i coach did get them. and old timers.
