It was not that far away. 35 yards at most. No big deal. no wacky weed for me, what you see is what you get. Lol
I still think its crazy that they've waited this long to get someone lined up from within the USSF or MLS.
He's worn out because he hasn't had an offseason for a couple of years and has been pulling double duty with TFC and the USMNT. In 2016, and 2017, TFC went all the way to MLS Cup. Bradley also played in every World Cup qualifier in those years. He had almost no offseason between the mid December MLS Cup and the start of Concacaf knock-out rounds in February. The same thing happened to Landon Donovan during those two offseasons when he went on loan to Everton in order to stay sharp for World Cup qualifying and the 2014 World Cup. He was burned out by the end. I'm not ready to say that Bradley is done. He's still a good player. He's burned out right now but I think he'll be back once he has an offseason to recharge and heal up.
I honestly don't remember MB being booed before, and I've seen him play us with Toronto a number of times. The booing is for the lackadaisical way he played at T & T, when all we needed was a draw to qualify, and we wound up losing to T & T's U-20 team. He was the captain of that team, and couldn't be bothered to run to take a corner kick with time running out, & the US down a goal! I booed him roundly last night, and I'll do it again, ESPECIALLY if he's playing for the USNT. He should not have been invited back this last set of friendlies, IMHO, and if he retires before the NT plays again, then the boos will stop from me. I can't guarantee if others will stop, too. (Can you tell I'm still pissed-off?)
I think that's a good point about Bradley. At least he'll have some time off this winter. Toronto is in the CCL again next year, but he can still have a couple of months off. Hopefully he doesn't play for the US in November and skips the January camp. If he's playing well next year in MLS, they should bring him into the national team for friendlies and the gold cup... as long as he's willing to NOT be a lock starter unless he shows it on the field.
I was baffled by the Bradley boos. I was also baffled by the Donovan boos. Both guys gave it his all everytime he put on the shirt. I’ll boo Blanco or some other jerk.
At Roma he was warming the bench after Nainggolan arrived; back then I couldn't understand why, today I can, although I can't stand Nainggolan bcs he's just a f@cking idiot. Then he got this monster offer from TFC, what, $6M or something like that, he would have never seen that money anywhere in Europe, he also probably wanted to come back home (more or less) and that was a good occasion. I honestly understand a lot less Donovan, who never had the balls to try it for real with the exception of a couple of months during the winter here and there.
There are some guys I will root for in a US shirt and against in a club shirt. If I think I can piss Bradley off by booing him, I'll do that. (And yes, I was one of the ones standing up and yelling "BOO THIS MAN!")
He's being scape-goated for the failure of the entire system. He's past his prime, we need new players at his position, but he seems to attract a level of vehemence that is out of line with what he's actually done.
Agreed. I think he was the best player of his generation. But that generation isn't relevant at the national level anymore.
I'm glad the Rooney goal was on the supporters end. The great majority of DCU goals have been at the other end. many of the supporters must have had an amazing view of the ball curl back on goal.
I thought the Bradley boos were kind of random. He doesn't have a history with us, AFAIK, and the USMT seems irrelevant to what was happening on the field. Unless it's somebody like Cobi Jones (of course), or somebody who has injured one of our players in the past (that asshole Felipe), I don't see the point. If the guy doesn't "get" why he is being booed, is it going to bother him? And as an aside, I don't care that the USMNT didn't qualify for the finals because there was no way they looked like one of the 32 best teams in the world at any point in qualifying. The world cup final was actually more enjoyable without having to root for those schlumps.
