It's always a fine line between running promos and discounting day of game tickets and angering your season ticket base by emphasizing how cheaply can get tickets if they just waited. Cinci is in a nice spot because they can keep current prices for next year because they're playing in the same spot but have a shiny new stadium coming online for 2021, so they can use the intervening 2 years to ramp up to the bigtime. I could see that happening here too. Reduce prices to get folks back, an act of goodwill. Then ramp it up to coincide with the new stadium opening.
I'm continually amazed by the people who have had actual interactions with the so called Hipster 6. I mean, I'm horrible at time management, I spend too much time on twitter, I've been pretty active in Save the Crew dialogue on twitter, facebook, here, and elsewhere and I've never had an interaction with these guys. I imagine it's like wading into the comment section on newspaper articles. Sometimes you seek out idiots to engage? Doesn't matter. They were irrelevant then and they are irrelevant now until whenever Columbus plays Austin FC, if that ever happens.
If it happens in the modern era, I haven't seen as much of it, but season ticket holders circa 2002-2005 used to get all kinds of mad because they weren't eligible for various bonus items (scarves, mini soccer balls, blankets) that came with the purchase of four individual tickets.
I took the bait a few times I must admit. For all of his dickishness, Bern at least tried to be funny at times. Kollin was straight up 100% POS the entire time. Like most of his ilk, he scurried away to hide when it came time to face up to his actions. Oh, and I would have never joined Twitter if it weren't for that GD J. Anthony Precourt and his merry band of Dbags. That is high on my list of things that I hate about the whole sheebang.
Personally I think some of our high end ticket prices are too much for people who don't buy season tickets. I think this hurts our attendance, especially from families. I have season tickets in Preferred East in Section 106. Those tickets on ticketmaster are $70 a piece. As a season ticket holder I only paid $36 a piece. Don't get me wrong I love the discount, but no way would I ever pay $70 a piece for my seats. I agree as a season ticket holder I should get a discount, but I feel that they are gouging the consumer marking it up that much.
On October 28th, 2018, we will come together and lay down our hatred for each other, if only for this day - reminiscent of the 1914 WWI Christmas day soccer game. @hangthadj , What's it gonna take to get you there?
Probably a miracle. I sorta had to choose between attending this game or the baptism of my god daughter the following weekend. The washing away of original sin looks most likely to win out.
I'll just say this: You're not taking out of your @$$, and there is a good reason what I was told was strictly OTR.
I think all prices at Crew stadium are ridiculous. Not sure why MLS thinks their product is worth so much.
I've read that a lot of FCC prices are staying close to the same for 2019 but in the following year or two they'll spike. Something like 25-50% annual increases. LAFC is doing the same thing for next year. It's very poor strategy. These teams try to fill it up in year 1 with underpriced tickets, then blindside the fans in year 2 and lose a bunch of STMs. A better strategy would be 10-15% higher in year 1 of MLS, then additional 5% increases per year for a few years thereafter.
I found an article with their 2019 ticket prices. They went up but they seem to be still lower than us. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinn...ncinnatismls-ticket-prices-soar-for-2019.html General Admission went from $99 to $199 (11.72 a match) Bailey went from $170 to $295 (17.35 a match) The smallest increase was their family section from $185 to $255
I have friends who had season tickets this year, they said their prices went up next year too. They also said their ticket rep sort of prepped them for that over the next two to three years as they transition into MLS. I just messaged him about it and he said their 2019 tickets were $590 pre-taxes and fees per ticket. So it came out to over $37 per ticket per game.
If memory serves, wasn't there a code to buy tix from the FCC site? I think that's what I did when I went.
I was a season ticket holder when I could get student tickets at $10 a game. I'm not a season ticket holder, it cost to much for me, and my friend circle.
I do not wish to side with the board's Thomas Jefferson over George Washington. I respect both of those guys a whole lot. The differences I find myself at this morning seem perplexing. I have changed as a fan. This experience has changed me. How could it not? I hate the Garbers, the Precourts, even the Andys of the world. The Hipster Six? They are minions. Underwhelming lackeys. Losers. I have neither hate nor pity for them. I just do not care. Which most likely makes me a bad soldier. Or a bad online poster. Probably both. What I do know, this morning, is that I am thankful to all the support fans throughout this league showed for our cause. The rebel colonists needed help, and many, many fans showed support. Except as I said, many of those Fire fans, who have been a pit stain on this league for far too long. In the heat of rivalry? Hardly. We were on our deathbed, and you spit in our face. Perhaps that hate is what many of you who read and interacted with the Austin trolls (the ones that live in the Austin area and the ones that pretended to) feel. If so, I suppose we can take comfort in one each other’s hate. You have your hate, and I will have mine. Yet, I also have a whole lot of love today for our soccer community. I hope the community can fully and finally exorcise the likes of Precourt and his trolls permanently out of that soccer family. They do not deserve to be included, and frankly, they never did.
I have thought for a long time that the standard ticket pricing needs to be revised. I think some of the top end prices are too high but I also think how they manage the sales and pricing matrix is deeply flawed. The fact they withhold tickets earlier on then release them at a higher price based on demand only to drop the price and open up even more cheap seating right before the game makes very little sense. I get they are trying to fill certain portions of the stands but the overall impact I think hinders attendance more than it helps visibility. I would rather have an additional 2k people at every game in the nosebleeds or standing than skipping it due to price. Pricing it like a baseball game or even airplane might be more effective.
