So I hear Bolillo is done with his experiments and the campeonato is going to come to a pause during the November FIFA dates so he can FINALLY call up the full roster. I hope that includes ALL the players playing in AND out of Ecuador. Last two games were disastrous. Few good highlights that I can remember are Carlos Gruezo who finally seems to display a more confident attitude on the NT and Cevallos Jr. Poor Alan Franco and Sebastian Mendez were being burnt out in their first few international appearances. SMH....you place MENDEZ with another young inexperienced kid then OF COURSE he won't do well. You gotta put him next to Orejuela or someone with experience under their belt, not another noob. That's how you burn these kids out like Gruezo in the World Cup.
The kid didn't even have many friendly games played and went and started a crucial World Cup match. Same thing with Steven Plaza. The kid barely debuted a few months ago in first division and he's already on the NT LMAOOOO. What kind of f*ckery is this?....And unfortunately for us, Enner is STILL the best striker even though he isn't a starter in Tigres. Here's my list below for the next few games.

    GK:
    Alexander Dominguez
    Maximo Banguera
    Hamilton Piedra

    DF:
    Cristian Ramirez
    Diego Palacios
    Antonio Valencia
    Andres Lopez
    Robert Arboleda
    Xavier Arreaga
    Franklin Guerra
    Luis Caicedo
Frickson Erazo- Bolillo boyfriend invite (watching from the bench)

    MD:

    Edison Vega
    Jefferson Orejuela
    Sebastian Mendez
    Carlos Gruezo
    Romario Ibarra
    Renato Ibarra
    Jose Cevallos
    Erick Castillo

    FW:
    Enner Valencia
    Bryan Angulo
    John Jairo Cifuente/Edson Montaño
    Miller Bolanos

This is the best we have right now. I left out Sornoza because he didn't convince me in the opportunities he was given. I'd rather take Cevallos to play that role and even Miller can play better behind the striker than Sornoza. The real question is if Cifuente will be forgiven, if not I'd take Edson Montaño. Ayrton Preciado- NEVER been a fan of his. I'd rather given Erick Castillo a try. They both get about the same amount of playing time in Mexico anyway so NO WAY to argue that one. Everyone on this squad is a consistent starter in their club or very close to it, besides Antonio, Erick Castillo, and Enner for different reasons, but they still play a decent amount.

Other options I would've pursued would've been Jordan Sierra, Cristian Penilla, Andres Chicaiza, Joao Rojas (Sao Paulo), and MAYBE giving Arturo Mina and Juan Cazares another chance. Other than that, the rest of the guys I have in mind are either too ripe or their time is up.

There's a true lack of wingers we are creating. I don't know how we are going to make it in this Qualifier. To think that Joao Rojas (Sao Paulo) is literally one of our best options playing abroad and he's 29 years old says enough. 2 years ago I would've laughed if anyone mentioned that to me. Now it's our sad reality.

Id rather see Joao Rojas start than Aryton Preciado lol. hopefully Castillo and Romario get more playing time cause we need them. The amount of playing time Romario, Castillo, and Preciado are getting sucks.

I would definitely call Arturo Mina as an option. Luis Caicedo has been @$$ debuted with a red card his last game he caused 2 penalties one right after another. Like dam dude.

Jordan Sierra I wish his team was in a better state. If it was I think he would consistently start and play 90 min. but his team is struggling so the coaching changes in each game leaves him out quite often.

Jordan Sierra plays every game as a starter generally (stats on transfer market website). He usually gets subbed out at like the 70th minute on average, but he's definitely a starter. But yes, I agree his team is in bad shape and it would be nice to see him in a team that's positioned somewhere better on the table. Either way, I'd give him a chance over Alan Franco. Franco is not ready for this type of sh*t yet. Even Mendez who is an excellent player, he's not ready to start on the NT. He should be included on the roster, but not as a starter. Bolillo already began burning that kid out. Good thing these are friendlies against small teams or else that kid would have been mentally shut down like Gruezo was for the past few years. I saw a renewed Gruezo now when he was on the NT- he's ready NOW at 23 years of age. Not at 19 like when Rueda thought he was.

I think Romario would've most likely been a starter now if it wasn't for the injury he suffered after those goals he scored. Either way, I'd give him a chance because he has been very effective when given opportunities on the NT. He gets my vote.

I agree with you about Erick Castillo. Needs more playing time. It seems like lately the Mexican league is harder for our players to adapt to than the Brazilian or Argentine league. I say that because our success rate has declined drastically in Mexico compared to Argentina or Brazil. It seems better for us to not go to Mexico because for some reason, it's tougher there now a days. Preciado was the "MVP" of the Ecuadorian league and is bench in Santos Laguna who paid a large sum for him. Even Fernando Gaibor plays a lot more than him. He's a been starter in almost every league game with Independiente even though he's received criticism in some instances during the season. Not a fan of Preciado either way, never convinced me as a NT player even before he joined the roster.

Arturo Mina, I agree with. Only reason I'd pick Kunty is because of his characterstics- he's got speed. Something Mina doesn't have. Ideally I'd like my center backs to be Arboleda and Ordonez as starters. IMO the two best center backs in the country, both fast and both great on the ground and on air. In addition to those two, I think Xavier Arreaga and Franklin Guerra are currently the other best two we have. Unfortunately Ordonez is injured for another 4 months, so my next options would be Dario Aimar (injured), Kunty, or Mina. I think Mina deserves another try soon, but I'm not a fan of his slowness. He needs to play next to someone like Kunty, Aimar, Arboleda, or Ordonez or else they'll tear him up. I really like what I'm seeing for Felix Torres, I think he's next and we also can't forget Dario Aimar who IMO would be on the NT if he hadn't suffered that injury. Great player with lots of speed. I'm a big fan of Dario Aimar. I think once he's back the competition will be very intense. We've never had so many center back options that are young and deserving of playing at NT level. Arboleda, Ordonez, Arreaga, Guerra, and Aimar - These 5 have to hold it down during the qualifier. Here and there, we may need to knock on the door for Felix Torres, Kunty or Arturo Mina, but I think those 5 are quality.

What’s up with Toño?last I heard he wasn’t being played because he liked a negative post about the DT,maybe He should move on to a different team while he still has a chance.

I think like a month or so ago when his team changed coaches he missed so many games in a row looking at him now yea he does consistently start so yea would be nice to see him get the call.

Joao Rojas is injured for the rest of the year. Dam I think the main person I want to see start now in LW is Romario or Penilla. Bolillo needs to start calling up Penilla and giving him chances.

Mina is hella slow lol but it would be nice to see him get his form back when he first move to River Plate. That Arturo Mina was the best CB we had at that time. I would like to see Luis Caicedo improve and consistently have good games in his club before starting him in the NT i would still call him up tho. I just feel like he still has personal issues affecting him.

I heard he also gained weight which Pissed of Mourinho even more. I kinda want to see him make 10 years in Manchester but Man U fans no matter how consistent and in good form he is Man U fans (The Majority) still hate on him. That and the club will continue to sign up player in his position.

So a move to Spain in teams like Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Espanyol or Levante would be nice or even a top Turkish team like Galatasaray.

Not to bash Antonio, but if the man knew how to speak English, he wouldn't be in this position. The world revolves around social media now and if you don't know wtf you're liking, then simple....don't hit that Like button. If you're in the public eye and you like something that you "shouldn't", you're screwed. And Antonio is paying for that at the moment. In addition to that he is injured and in recovery. Not completely sure what his injury involve, but I do remember Mourinho saying Antonio had a knee issue earlier in the season that kept bugging him.

It's going to be difficult to see him regain his starting position and that captain band....forget about it lol. You won't see Antonio wearing that any longer. I guarantee that. Either way, I'd like to see what he's made of. Somehow the man always pulls through and proves everyone wrong (myself included), which is what makes him legendary IMO. I want to see him do that again.

I'm awaiting to see Bolillo's roster and what kind of BS he's going to pull this time. I bet it's going to be a disappointment.

To point a few things out.

Paredes: This dude shouldn't be here anymore Andres Lopez deserve to be called or even Bryon Castillo and Pedro Perlaza but not him again.

John Narvaez: Not sure what you guys think. I was thinking the other day whether or not he should be called this is a grey area for me TBH. I do know his team in Peru is top of the table he is playing CB lately and is getting 90 min. But as far as his personal performance compared our other options dont know haven't really seen games or highlights.

Montero; He def shouldnt be here was injured for a while on and off and hasnt played in his team recently. Plata, Penilla and even Erik Castillo should have taken his place.

Manu Balda: Good club player but I didnt think Bolillo would have called him or even been on his radar he wasn't on mine at least there a few local players I would have tried or called up again before him. The Julios, Jeison Chala, or Chicaiza

    Arqueros
    Máximo Banguera (BSC) - GOOD
Alexander Domínguez (Vélez Sarsfield – Argentina) - GOOD

Overall: Excellent roster in this area.

    Defensas
Juan Carlos Paredes (Emelec): Andres Lopez is a better right back and younger. Surprised Bolillo doesn't even take note of him.

    Cristian Cruz (LDU)- GOOD
Arturo Mina (Yeni Malatyaspor – Turquía) - GOOD

Gabriel Achilier (Morelia – México) - This one is debatable. Achilier is having an excellent moment in his career in Morelia constantly being a stand out in his team and was even showing up in the best 11 of the Liga MX every week last season. I think he made the best center back of the Liga MX last season IMO, BUT.....He's 33 years old going on to 34 and in 4 years he won't be around. As far as his quality, he's fast and compliments a player like Mina who NEEDS a player with speed playing next to him. IMO I would have gone with Robert Arboleda. I'm guessing Arboleda didn't make the list because he's in a crucial moment of the season with Sao Paulo or because Bolillo wanted to try out someone else. It's one or the other, but he would've gotten my vote to be a starter on this list and im disappointed not to see him here. Other options: Felix Torres or Luis Caicedo.

John Narváez (Melgar – Perú)- To my knowledge, he's been a starter all year with Melgar and they are leading the Clausura of Peru right now and 2nd in the accumulated table. I didn't know he was mostly playing as a center back but this is not a surprise, Narvaez was an excellent prospect in his younger days as a center back and then became a right back in Emelec. Unfortunately for him, his career was held back after he left Emelec because of that issue with that Uruguayan team. AWAYS has had talent, and I give him the OK.

    Xavier Arreaga (BSC)- GOOD

Cristian Ramírez (Krasnodar – Rusia) - GOOD

Overall: Where's Andres Lopez? Where's Robert Arboleda? Why is Juan Carlos Paredes STILL on this list? I give this section of the roster a 6.5/10.

    Volantes
Antonio Valencia (Manchester United – Inglaterra) - GOOD
    Alfredo Intriago (LDU) - GOOD
Renato Ibarra (América – México) - GOOD
    Jéfferson Orejuela (LDU) - GOOD
    Édison Vega (LDU) - GOOD
    Sebastián Méndez (IDV) - GOOD
Carlos Gruezo (Dallas FC – EE.UU.) - GOOD

Jéfferson Montero (Swansea – Gales) - Injured most of the season and has only played 4 games. Does this merit a call up? Unfortunately Joao Rojas (Sao Paulo) suffered a horrible 6 month injury, but I would've voted him in here. Aside from that Erick Castillo has lately won a starting spot in Tijuana and is doing well. He was the most deserving player in this position along with Cristian Penilla. BAD decision here.

Manuel Balda (El Nacional)- This one is debatable. I think Jose Cevallos Jr. has MANY times proven he has potential to be a great NT player by SCORING GOALS. What does this kid have to do to make it on here? Balda is not better than Cevallos Jr. Chicaiza could've been another option, but he's not better than Cevallos either. I'll say I'm disappointed Cevallos wasn't on here.

Overall: 8/10. We need Cevallos Jr. and Erick Castillo/Cristian Penilla to strengthen this section of the roster.

    Delanteros
Ayrton Preciado (Santos – México) - STOP insisting with this kid. He does not live up to the hype. If Sornoza isn't on this list, then Preciado shouldn't be either. He's such a hyped up winger it's so annoying. Waste of space!!!

Romario Ibarra (Minnessota United – EE.UU.) - GOOD
Énner Valencia (Tigres – México) - GOOD
John Cifuente (Universidad Católica) - EXCELLENT
    Brayan Angulo (Emelec) - EXCELLENT
Miller Bolaños (Tijuana – México) - GOOD

OVERALL: 8.5/10 I would give this spot to either Erick Castillo or even give Edson Montano a try. NO MORE PRECIADO PLEASE!

Narvaez has been one of the best CB's in Peru this season. It's hard to say he's been better than Paolo Fuentes also at Melgar, but point is he's been very good.

I can understand the call up because I find it odd that Ecuador has a better league than Peru but still can't find a CB better than Gabriel Achillier.

Its not that there is not anyone better than Achilier but there a few things to think about when I look at our defense going into qualifiers.

The main thing is that our starting duo in CB is not clear who it is yet and we have a few great options to choose from. The second is that a lot of the new guys coming up in the local league havent gotten any games in the NT yet (Arreaga, Guerra, and Torres) and there are two currently injured Ordonez and Aimar.

Then we have Arboleda, Mina, Narvaez and even Caicedo all great CB in El Exterior. So why would I include Achilier? To keep the competition up. I wouldnt want any of these guys thinking they own that starting spot. Especially some one like Arboleda who is rumored to have issues with other players in the past. Personally Im glad this time Arboleda and Caicedo were not included to try these guys for that same reason. And Luis Caicedo because I want more consistency from him too.

He was off to a good start in Brazil but left for personal issues. He started pretty bad in MX so I want to see how this experience in El Exterior goes for him. Again I want to see more consistency at club level before I see him start. He could still be called up tho .

Going into Qualifiers Achilier with his experience and great club level would be of use later on in qualifiers he could disappear when the new local guys get more NT experience.

You are very much off, my friend. To begin, the Ecuadorian league is VERY much more competitive than Peru's. Reasons? Up until 2 weeks ago there were 8 teams in extremely close competition for the 1st place position. 8th place and 1st place was separated by 5 points, with the first 4 teams being separated by 1-2 points. The so called "Big Teams" in Ecuador like Emelec, Liga and Barcelona have been getting very tough competition from the smaller teams like Macara and Delfin (second year in a row disputing in the top part of the table). With 5 games left in the competition before the year ends, it's very unpredictable to know who will win the Segunda Etapa of the Campeonato. It's very hard to tell if there will even be a final (Liga de Quito won the Primera Etapa) because if Liga wins the Segunda Etapa there won't be one. Every week, the 1st place team rotates...sometimes it's Liga, sometimes it's Emelec, other times it's Macara. When a competition is that unpredictable and the smaller teams are giving the Big teams a run for their money, that's what you call competitive. This is the second year in a row the Campeonato is competitive to this degree. The top 6 goal scorers in the Campeonato are all Ecuadorian. The top Goal scorer is John Jairo Cifuente with 35 goals and 5 games left (I think he may make it to 40)....In the Peruvian league, if you look at the top 4 goal scorers, 3 of them are foreigners, and the one Peruvian in that mix (Mauricio Montes, 22 goals) is 36 years old. And all of the 4 top goal scorers are over the age of 30 expect one of them (Gabriel Heredia)...The Peruvian league's top goal scorer is Emmanuel Herrera with 37 goals, that player was considered bench material in Emelec for 2 years. Many times even as a 3rd option. I'm not exaggerating either, you can ask some fellow emelxistas here. There was always an Ecuadorian striker in a better moment than him. Emelec won 3 championships in a row with that guy riding the bench.

To sum up, I don't see other leagues in South America, much less the Peruvian league, that are THAT neck and neck between 1st and 5th place. If anything in most of the leagues in South America at the moment, you will see the typical big team leading by a chunk of points with 1st and 5th place being VERY far removed from each other. In some leagues even the 2nd place teams already seem to be sh*t out of luck with no chance of winning their respective competition. It is what it is, I'm just calling out facts. The Ecuadorian league's level of competition has increased considerably, but to our misfortune, the issues in our federation and the lack of care in decision making when selecting an ideal coaching staff has us looking the total opposite. If we had a federation that would be in their right mind, we would be levels head of the rest (excluding Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia). Our league speaks for itself lately.

As far as center backs, that's where we actually don't lack a thing. Despite some injuries (Anderson Ordonez & Dario Aimar) and leaving out Robert Arboleda, Luis Caicedo, and Franklin Guerra (Best Centerback in the league IMO), we still managed to come up with a more than decent defensive end. Arturo Mina, Gabriel Achilier, John Narvaez, and Xavier Arreagea are very much good quality. Ideally, our center backs should be Anderson Ordonez, Robert Arboleda, Franklin Guerra, Xavier Arreaga, and Dario Aimar...leaving out Luis Caicedo, Arturo Mina, John Narvaez, and Felix Torres. Where we do need assistance is with wingers. That's where we are lacking BIG time.

Not trying to troll here, so don't take me the wrong way. I would say the best position in the Peruvian league is center defense, which is essentially the reason we have so much depth in that position now. I love Achillier but I rate most of our CB's more than him.

Secondly, I'm not off because I said that Ecuador's league is much better than Peru's. Look at the Libertadores and it's hardly even a debate. However all im saying is that Narvaez has had a very good season with Melgar and given neither Peru nor Ecuador are football powerhouses, he should be given a chance. They are friendlies after all. Can't hurt. Again, don't take me the wrong way. To be honest I only came in here to let you know Narvaez has been good.

He has a few memorable bad preformances lol and I was never a fan either. But TBH I never thought he would have made the move to MX let alone find this kind of success.

Right before he made the move to MX his preformance dropped and then it came to light that his wife passed away due to cancer. My condolences to him.

Emelec wasnt going to renew or keep him im pretty sure if this move to MX didnt come along he would have moved to a lower table team and disapeared little by little. This move and MX was a blessing for him glad he picked himself up and the team gave him the opportunity.

His presence and call to the NT team now is well deserved. And again at this moment he is a CB that can give Arboleda and the rest of the CB the most competition in the NT.

You guys have a beast in Achillier.

I'm posting this at the end of the first half, so if he plays badly in the second this will look silly. So far though he's making it so difficult for us.
