I remember watching Cuadrado, Armero and Adrian Ramos and thought they were meh. Funny to see how it all turned out.

Cuadrado I think surprised me the most.

Yep. Very little Hope for them. They are 3 points behind celta and the goal difference is 6 goals between the two teams. They are not virtually in second division yet but honestly... They are.

Italian media is speculating Mojica will start today. Makes total sense to rotate him in with Champions League and Serie A in full force now.

Today's Atalanta match in the USA will be on ESPN Deportes in Spanish and ESPNEWS in English..

well, he had one really bad moment. Other than that he was OK. Didn't really notice much. About the 2:30 mark on this video.

He struuuugled. He's just not at the level to compete in big games in Europe or for us imo. He's decent, but we'd be a lot better off if Fabra gets on form.

I will give him benefit of the doubt....he is still adapting in atalanta and all the xi players played bad

He just has to keep working. He is a uniquely gifted athlete. Just has to work on discipline and accuracy on his cross and he could be world class.

Are you pulling my leg? He's 28 and played in Liga 2 last season can't dribble, doesn't really have great vision and doesn't defend all that well. He's an average player and miles on miles away from being world class, he runs up the wing and crosses, can't cut inside and doesn't have enough dimensions to his game to thrive against top notch opposition offensively.

Look I think he's in our depth pool, but it was surprising he got signed by Atalanta, that is a good thing for him but I'm hesitant at his age he'll develop much further past what he is.

Honestly he have played very few matches with atalanta and with the NT....his first official match was against japan, didnt play in copa america and in preparations matches........althought .in last wcq games he was much better than in the past...i think is an adaptation issue and he will be better in the national each time (i remmebered zuñiga and armero struggling in their first matches in wcq2010).........meanwhile fabra beyond his good technique to attack (a lot of times without accuracy)...he is also miles away from being a world class his defense is very bad and now he is fat.....mojica as arias have depth..........

In Spain have made a decent career not only in liga 2....................... that after 2 monthns in Italy we dont have his best version is normal.............duvan didnt scored in his frist season with atalanta until novemeber..........and in a point barrow was used before him....................liverpool match was bad for all the team. is unfair to judge him.....

having said this i dont like his style i always think he is uncofortable, sometimes look clumsy.......but he have an important understanding of his position and of the game........for example in the second goal agisnt chile......he was elemental keeping the ball in the last play and sruprising all with a back heel to james when he was covered, then he found a space to shot and falcao scored...............fabra is more predictable in his attacking movements.

    Minute 14: 10

also his assitance agaisnt venezuela to muriel was great........he knows to take a lot of advantage of that flank and then cut very well.....dont remember goals of colombia with fabra in that role......,maybe alot of options of with bad resolution

None of our fullbacks are world class, Arias would be the closest by far imo. Fabra has much more to his game offensively, Mojica is almost completely one dimensional going forward, not saying Fabra is a god but healthy and firing Fabra for me is going to be getter going forward then Mojica for me. I'm not saying Mojica is terrible, I'm happy to have him and I think he will perform better for Atalanta with time to adapt I just don't think we should get our hopes up that he will be something he's not. He's a decent player who can do a good job, but I think people are being over hyped because he was signed by Atalanta, its great for his career but those other fullbacks they have are very different type of players from Mojica and I'm hesitant to think he'll be super successful there but I do think it will absolutely benefit him and Colombia.

To Mojica’s credit - he has two assists for us at the NT level this cycle. His crosses and pace are what we praised him for since day one.

Defensively, I am nervous how he will do when he faces smarter/more disciplined teams

Liverpool pulled his pants down several times and he nearly gave up a penalty early on too - they are also top 2 or 3 teams in the world.

For Mojica to be effective with us, having Lerma/Barrios in midfield seems to be the right mix. I don’t know if Uribe/Yairo/Cantillo/Alzate could provide that kind of defensive support.

    I see it simply.

Mojica may be at best average at defending and above average offensively.

But he is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better for us than Tesillo.

So it makes me feel great he is starting given that alternative.

I just mean as an athlete. The kid has lungs and is fast. For me it's tactical discipline (which he will learn in Italy) and beating the first man with his cross (which is tougher).

Mojica needs to learn to defend a little better still. His defending reminds me of Luis Perea mistakes.

The Liverpool game isn't really fair to judge him on, they are one of the best teams in the world and they were rolling on the weekend, I'm more judging him based on a big amount of games at club level and for us. I'm happy to have him, but an upgrade in that position would help us a lot if there was one.

Perea developed some annoying habits when he got to Europe. I agree with you that Mojica plays like him in the sense he is over reliant on his athleticism to compensate for tactical discipline at times. Also, gives away corners (Perea did that way too much).

Perea at DIM early in his career was just incredible. I remember him in the Libertadores playing in a back three and looking like there were three of him on the field and they were all faster than everyone else!

Perea would be starter of national team in this moment.....mina and davinson also have their blooper matches.

Perea problem was his mistake per match...but then he was solid.....including tactical discipline...his problema was some concentration problems.

Hope mojica defend a 30% pf what perea defend.....
