Glad we didn't bet a jersey this time. Do you still wear the Nguyen jersey?

That was me and I haven't worn it since he left. I also live in London now, so it's not like I'm going to too many games.

I'll grant that it looks like you're right when it comes to the prediction thread - but that's only a small piece of the picture.
I'll bet many/most of us felt a pang of painenvypain reading that.

There is still time for the Revs to hit the 41-45 bracket, so we might actually outperform expectations compared to years past (if still underperforming overall). It is interesting though that even the NNNs are more upbeat than the Revs generally end up deserving, though....

That's fair. I guess I'm just saying that the majority of us tend to be optimistic going into each season. I personally feel like every season since 2010 has been a disappointment, aside from 2014. That has to have a significant impact on the mentality of supporters, no? The longstanding SSS topic is just the cherry on top of what has been a very frustrating decade for Revs fans IMO.

It is pretty great. I do miss going to Revs games, but I still get to my fair share of football (some far better than MLS and some far worse).

For low-quality football, check out Loftus Road some time. Former MLS-er Junior (don't call me "Whiskey") Agogo was in the QPR lineup. Nice little bandbox of a stadium, but the best part when I went several years ago was some guy leaning over the railing of the upper deck, screaming at about 300 Notts County away supporters at the top of his lungs: "Cumoan, you baaastards! You foookin coonts! Let's 'ave a go if ya fink ya 'ard enuf! Cumon, I'll fight yez aww! Cumon, one at a time, foookin Nottin-ampshire scuuum!" Meanwhile, and old man a couple rows behind is telling him to "Wotch tha game yer daaaaft baaastard!"

    What a great country!

Yeah, I love how, depending on where you go in England, you can tell the differences in speech patters when the right back shanks an unchallenged ball off the side of his foot and out of bounds. The differences between how they say "F--kin piece of 5hit!" is remarkable.

The best one was when one of the tabloids made a big fuss because one of the Man Utd players was seen leaving a club at 12:15 am the night before a game. never mind that if he had gone home and to bed, he could have gotten 8 hours of sleep and still woken up 7 hours before kickoff, they still made a big deal out of it. So as soon as he came down our end, the Leicester City fans started singing the chorus of a song by the Specials that was popular in the '80s. "Oi go out on Froi-day noit and oi come 'ome on Sacherday maaw-ning!"Within 10 seconds the entire end was singing it. Brilliant! Don't need no jumbotron to tell you when to clap when you have that kind of organic grass-roots stuff going on.

Nice! The weird thing about PSG tickets is that you can buy them online from a season ticket holder exchange, but if, for whatever reason you can't go, you can't sell them unless you are a season ticket holder. And if you were, you wouldn't be buying them from the site, would you?

This happened to me, and then my bid-ness trip got pushed back a couple weeks, so I was out 75 Euro :mad::mad:

Yeah, they probably have some equivalent of StubHub, but I'm French-challenged, so it was easier to deal with their site.

Looking at their recent results, looks like they regularly crush their league opponents. I'll be pretty neutral, but looking forward to the experience and the passion most.

I was embarrassingly wrong although I chose 60 just because I thought it would be hilarious if a first year coach could come in and do that. Alas he didn't and I was completely wrong - wouldn't be the first time

You are lucky to be in Paris, I’m jealous. I’d go there just about anytime.

I saw PSG-Reims a couple weeks ago and I liked the Parc des Princes very much. Enjoy it.

It is nice to see supporters in both end zones and a few chants that go back and forth. The crowd was pretty good considering the opponent and the Wednesday night game. Lille should get a bigger response than Reims. If you are on the weekend I bet that will make a positive difference too.

Even more weird, when I used that method to purchase tickets, was having to supply name and e-mail for each ticket (although I’m pretty sure I could have used the same name for all 4). I half expected them to ask for my ID but, of course, they just scanned the ticket and waved us through.

I've been a few times, but am very excited to be going again. We'll be sharing a place with my son and his family, who are coming from Burkina-Faso.

The game is Friday evening - love the fact that it's so accessible by the Metro.

That ticket ID story reminds me of the 2006 WC in Germany. FIFA wanted to deter scalping so they printed names on every ticket, and supposedly, they were going to check IDs to see if the person using it matched the name. Germany isn't really known for being a loosey-goosey culture, but when the smallest stadium was like 45,000, it could only be a random check, if at all.

Just in case I made a photocopy of my passport and changed the name to match the names on my tickets. And copied the copy over and over again, so it was a really poor quality copy. Most of the names were fairly nondescript, like James McGovern or Micheal Donato. But one of the games was Togo - Korea, and I bought the ticket from some guy on the internet. The name was Moses Abuskusomo. I was almost hoping I'd get checked because I was all ready in case someone asked about a nondescript white guy with such an unusual name. Y'see, I'm half Jewish, half Native American Indian, the Fukawe tribe, to be exact. All my relatives came and danced at my Bar Mitzvah, and man, you should have seen the rainstorm we had that night!

Ok, so I missed by 1 point.

I also stopped watching half way thru the season. The ugly display of thug ball is not what I want to watch. I commented when BF was hired that I was opposed to him becoming the manager. In Tim Howard's book, Tim asked Brad what advice he could give him as he moved to the EPL. His response, figure it out yourself. That is not future coaching material no matter how you sugar coat it. Oh, and for the record, MB and BB are both totally incompetent at their job.

I never heard that Tim Howard story. Unless they had a serious beef at some point (which means that Howard might not have even asked him to begin with), it sure seems like a dick move to not want to even give advice to a guy who is essentially following your footsteps. Yeah, not the kind of attitude you'd expect from a guy who wants to get into coaching.

I think it aligns perfectly with his comment about MLS players being too nice to new teammates and is further evidence that he is not coaching material.
