I Hope than in a year or even 4 you have the same sensation....not try out new players for tthe beggining of his cycle could be a big mistake....just because arturo wanted to give “entertainment“

So your take on our temp coach? I like the fact that he isn't afraid to get some of our younger talent out once we maintained a cozy lead. But I do criticize him taking out Quintero after 10 minutes and not resting Arias who was out for a while.

You are totally right, we didn't use our resources like we should have. This coach makes substitutions so late in games, that I ask myself, what's the point. He doesn't seem to sub in the correct guys (other than JFQ, that was perfect timing). I am just as confused as you all about certain players that did fine the last round, didn't get a call up this time. BUT after playing so many boring games with such talented players, its was actually fun to watch an all out attack. Plus I doubt this one game will make or break anything we do in the next four years.

Someone said Cardona looked skinny. Maybe its the baggy clothes because he looked wide to me.

These are just friendlies and we should have been using young players

But I am glad to see Colombia being an attacking side. That is our identity. I love Pekerman. Always will. But I hope our next coach does not resort to double or triple pivots as he often did. We have an amazing array of attacking players. That should be our identity

Still can’t believe he didn’t sub in Villa or Cucho who would’ve had a field day with Robinson.

Side note: Davinson is as good as his pairing CB. He needs someone like Yerry to keep his head cool. Both of these idiots had no discipline in the back. Didn’t know when to pressure up or go back. Too much hesitation

I love both the USA and Colombia so I will try and be as diplomatic as possible.

I like the kids the USA played. Weah had a beautiful assist for that second goal. There is a reason he is at PSG.
Acosta usually is mediocre. He took advantage of Cuadrado being off the field with a nice goal though. He was not going to be denied.
The defense is still shaky but the future is bright for Los Estados Unidos. Especially since Pulisic and a couple other young studs did not play.

As for Colombia- James is James. We are blessed that he is Colombian. The guy can score from anywhere and assist from anywhere.
JuanFEr brings such a great rhythm and such vision to the field I hope he is not banged up and out for too long for his sake and River's sake.

Bacca, Bacca, Bacca. For every time I want to say he should never be called up again he then scores a goal and had a nice toquito on our break away with JuanFEr and Falcao. He still is not as consistent as we would like him to be but he is still proving why he should be called up.

Borja, my goodness. I said it before and I will say it again he is one of th only forwards who can make spectacular goals from anywhere on the field. That Chilena was solid and sexy.

    Defensively-
Jeison Murillo has fans who have been wondering why Pekerman never called him. I think last night showed some reasons as to why. Not to say he was horrible the whole game but he has some moments that led to goals and dangerous plays.
As much as I love Davinson it was not his best game either. Some terrible decisions passing the ball particularly.
I had low expectations for Machado and he played better than I expected, especially going forward.

Now on to my biggest criticism-
This had to be one of the worst games I have seen from our Defensive midfielders in a long time. Both Barrios and Uribe played like crap for long stretches of the game. Bad passing, bad decision making and roughing up the USA players like they were the 1970s Philadelphia Flyers hockey team.
Hopefully they get better and this was just an isolated bad game because if they play like that against los Ticos I can see a fight on the field occurring and plenty of red cards in New Jersey.

Great observation on davinson, hopefully as time goes on, he can develop into a leader for the back line. He has been getting better over time, but he does have the tendency to find himself out of position which is going to be problematic against smarter and more skilled teams

I said it before, but it is insane to expect Yerry and Davinson to be our every game 90 minute duo. Davinson will eventually have to bring his CB partners to his level rather then regress to their level.

Not sure if anyone else noticed but Cucho Hernandez wasn't even listed as bench player for yesterdays game, so he could not have played.. That was pretty weird

Just a bit of constructive critism for Davi. Still grateful at how young and talented he is to be Colombian. Did anyone else notice how they usually only pressed when Davinson had the ball at his feet? Makes me wonder if a team like the US tried to exploit can you imagine much bigger teams better at pressing.

But I will also say that at times the defense and midfield were completely disconnected and I’ll blame Barrios and Uribe for not taking the initiative to be available outlets. Thus leading Davi to just have to blast a pass to a US player. Stronger teams will not be so forgiving.

Maybe the heat and humidity has something to do with that?
Seems like a trend in Barranquilla too. It is hard to get energetic for most of a game when the climate is like that.

is it humid in Barranquilla? in Florida its completely draining. Could definitely be an issue.

I have the game recorded so im about to watch it again. That poor Robinson guy probably hated his life during the game, got completely steamrolled all game. Im sure he dreamt of Arias last night

This was a lesson for Robinson. I am confident he can get better after facing quality players like ours.
When he faces CONCACA competition he will be like man this is much easier.

As a Chicago Fire fan I am half ashamed and half proud of that fact.

Anyway, I give the kid a break. He is still young and learning.

also, im liking how Cuadrado is playing with Reyes. He's no longer glued to the wing attempting and failing to drible past players constantly but not he kind of gravitates towards the middle of the field linking up with teammates and playing passes in for falcao. He also drops back and helps defensively a lot sneaking up on players from behind. Gives James a bit more liberty to play up front.

They did a decent job at trying to be unbiased and giving credit to Colombia. I am proud of that.

I also like the fact they interviewed Falcao and he spoke in English. That was kind of cool.
