Has there ever been a team with a record against the other conference like the Red Bulls this year? To have only a loss and a tie against teams you're schlepping across the country in coach is pretty amazing.
Toronto only had 1 loss but 3 ties in 2017. Dallas had 2 losses and 1 tie in 2015. RSL went 6-4-0 in 2014. Vancouver was 4-6-0 that year. Those are the only two teams we've found that didn't lose any inter-conference games. In 2013 Vancouver had two losses and one draw. In 2012 Kansas City had 1 loss and 2 draws. In 2010 Dallas and Salt Lake only had 1 loss each but FCD had 8 draws and RSL had 4. Others may have more information.
The percent of games that were ties went from 24.1% last year to 21.2% this year. For East vs. West games it was lower at 18.9%. I didn't check East vs. West games last year.
