seems like he could be headed back to not making any squads if he stays. In the last week, Augsburg have gotten 2 new players that can play strikers in Schieber and Hahn. On top of currently having guys like Richter, Gregoritsch, and Finnbogason. They sometimes even had Cordova play CF.

even if let's say Gregoritsch were to leave (as there is interest in him, both in 1BL and EPL), they still have Malone and other strikers in Augsburg II and the youth levels.

with an expiring Summer 2019 contract, Parker should consider trying a 2BL move to reestablish himself or if there is interest in a promoted 1BL team could be another option, if he insists on staying in 1BL. Only played 44 minutes all season and hasn't played since March 3. Didn't make the final matchday squad as Ausgburg took in 2 youth players instead of Parker.

This thread has become pretty depressing.

Here's a new angle. Maybe if he got involved in the US setup, he would have had some better luck w/ injuries and bounces going his way, sort of like how Bobby Wood resurrected his career starting with the Fall friendlies in 2014 and ending in the pre-GC friendlies in 2015.

Or maybe he'd be right where he is now.

been saying for awhile he needs to go to 2BL to rejuvenate his career.

the 25 year old joins Green on a 2 year contract.

yeah i agree. he's the type of foreign player I would like to see MLS target...the us-eligible players struggling for one reason or the other in Europe....don't think MLS has done much with these types in the past.

Well maybe our future coach can send his future coaching staff to scout him and Julian.

Parker has to perform 1st, but will be interesting to see which attacker from Parker, Wooten, Green and Boyd will do the best in 2BL this season. So far Wooten has had injury issues, Boyd has been relegated to the bench, not a great start for either. It actually hasn't been a great start for US eligible players in 2BL.

also he has to apply for a one time switch to play for the USA, as he's currently provisionally cap tied by Germany. No issue as there is no way he's making it with Germany.

    for German Americans you have
    S. Parker, Costly, Gipson, Wooten, Green, Boyd,George, Maloney, Lankford

    for Americans
    Gyau, Gaines, Kronholm

    Gone from last season
Wright (loan was not successful), Morales (moved to 1BL), Kinjo (still has no club), and Kiesewetter (still no club).

some of these guys by the time they are done with their 2BL contracts they will be almost 30. That's the case for Parker, Wooten, Boyd, Gyau and George.

In his entire career, Parker has played (per transfermarkt) 37 Bundesliga games (4 goals), 9 Bundesliga2 games (1 goal) and 4 German Cup games (no goals).

In 12/13 he seemed promising, playing 16 first division games for Mainz as a 19/20 year old and scoring three times.

The next year he played 11 games and scored once for Mainz and it’s been a steady decline since.

Maybe his career can be resurrected and another flank option would be nice. But so far this year, he’s played 3 B2 games, totaling 67 minutes. That doesn’t exactly scream call-up, especially for a 25-year old.

Parker appears to be injured currently, not sure what the issue is.

and guy's injured once again and out for the rest of 2018.

Whether he would have been a good talent or not, is unknown since he's can't stay fit at all. And the soon to be 26 year is more towards lost players at this point.

it's not but it's already his 2nd injury of the season and he had other fitness issues throughout.

there is a reason why he's only played 100 minutes/4 games this season out 14 games.
