I dont know how much I buy these arguments. La liga was done very early last year. The last two years we were heavily rotating during the knockout rounds. Some starters like Ronaldo weren't even playing liga games to stay fresh. And yet we still win CLs
This isn't even a defense. What does rotation have to do with being used to playing harder and sharper? By the end of the season you need to rotate.
At that stage, teams are playing two games most weeks. Rotation allows players to remain fresh but are still playing consistently and are consistently being tested and forced to stay sharp. One can't compare this to the 6 competitive games (CL Group stage) in the 1st half of the season that PSG has to look forward to. Playing in France is a disadvantage to PSG. They go through large stretches without any real test and then are supposed to lift their game many fold to be competitive in CL. It is not an easy task.
Rewatching the highlights of Liverpool - PSG and it looks like Areola wasn't very concentrated when they conceded the first goal. He was looking at Salah instead of Sturridge and reacted too late. You can see it at 2:55
I believe we had the most points in the 2nd half of the season or were pretty close to Barca. We peaked at the right time. Had we played like first 6 months, even top 4 finish might not have happened. Only season in the last 5 years where we peaked early was 2014-15 and struggled to maintain the form once Modric picked up two crucial injuries.
He wasn’t trying at all. Strolled round the pitch like an entitled prima donna. Think he’s way too pampered at PSG where everyone dances to his tune. And like another user said, it’s difficult to up your game when your usual competition is so poor. Yeah he made a few runs in the first half that amounted to nothing but he was invisible and looked disinterested for 99% of the game. His run did get deflected into Mbappe’s path though by VVD which led to the goal but he really should be showing better.
Mbappe and Neymar have the same attitude. The PSG players run the team, it's irrelevant who the coach is. As such, they don't really work hard or cover space. It's just fancy pants stuff and trying to score, and the rest of the guys is supposed to do the rest.
Cristiano and Messi do the same thing, even Bale is like that now. The difference is in the quality of the rest of the team.
The sheiks should buy few mor teams in the league and invest in them first in order to make the league competitive enogh to actually make PSG play like a team. The state of that club...it's hilarious. Money alone is never enough as we all know..
Most of the team is defensively incompetent. Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria, Cavani, just so many players that either can't or really won't help the team much. Cavani gets busy but it doesn't make much of a difference.
Why is Tuchel so rated that high. Almost every time he plays a high profile game he shits himself Losing 3-2 highly flattered him
Because he's good friends with Guardiola and that opens doors in the press and the game itself. Other than that, I don't really get it either. I don't see much of a difference from last season no matter how much they tried to dress him up as a great new hype.
Signed Chupo-Moting, Kehrer Bernat spent thesummer chasing boateng that's like a Bundesliga rejects lineup When he was at Dortmund loaded the team with horrible players like Toprak Castro Rode schurrle Was losing 5-0 to guardiola, lost a 3-1 lead at Anfield to 4-3. Yesterday got his pants pulled down
Johnathan Wilson on PSG: "What are they? A vanity project for Neymar? A strangely misplaced Nike marketing ploy? A laundromat for Qatar's international reputation?" https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/sep/19/psg-liverpool-thomas-tuchel-football
I did not watch the psg game but from looking at the lineup I’ll say this was a big tactical error from Touchel. That midfield with DiMaria and Marquinos..? I didn’t even know Marquinhos could play that holding midfielfer role. Maybe he is being converter this season?
What design are you talking about? There's a nice clip on youtube about Bayern, their finances and glas ceiling effect. It's same in Italy for Juventus and in France for PSG. The difference is the experience, the history and let's call it heritage of the other two clubs that makes them aware of all the problem playing in less competitive league brings to the table when it's time to switch to CL nights, so they do their best to adjust their attitude and their game to the different circumstances. PSG, they just don't get it. They really think they can literally just buy success regardless of the level of competition.
Hi, Ligue 1 is a shit league simple as.... http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/id-l...s-in-ligue-1-cavani/4on8ybm3ltt91sq4pp45ribi3
The denial will only make their untimely end sweeter. It will be a full blown circus. They're going to exceed every level of circus we have ever witnessed during galactico years and it will be glorious. The best part will be when they start pointing fingers and temperamental Tuchel explodes losing his cool.
Of course it is, but Mbappe and many others don't do much either, it's more like a show than a team. I think Neymar would shine at Barca or Madrid, as part of a well oiled machine.
