In fact, she belongs in Kanagawa University. She plays in Albi as a special decignated player.

I don't know University's level, but considering it from various perspectives Kanto League may be equal to Nadeshiko League 2 and/or Challenge League upper teams.

I just looked her up on the Nadeshiko Wiki and it seems she joined Niigata only recently. She didn't play last week, but I thought she played really well yesterday so hopefully we'll see more of her in the future.

Also, Mönchengladbach lost 0-3 against Werder Bremen with Kodama not even getting a single minute on the pitch. She played only one half against Cloppenburg, as a holding mid in a 4-2-3-1, so probably the coach doesn't know how to utilise her. Makes me sad.

I wonder if Mönchengladbach has the same coach as two years ago when they lost badly against Japans U20 team....
One of the comments of the German team before the loss was „they are so young...“

The state of women football in Germany is seriously underwhelming right now in so many regards. At least I can gush over Lena Oberdorf (scored two goals in her first match as pro for Essen)...

The second semifinal of NWSL just ended a few hours ago: North Carolina Courage-Chicago Red Stars 2-0.
Chicago anyway hit a crossbar with Nagasato on 0-0 and a post with Kerr on 0-1. I read that Nagasato received a kick on the ribs towards the end of the match, but I didn't see it, so I don't know if that fould could have further consequence or if it was just a normal game-play situation.
So, in the end, we don't get any Japanese player in the NWSL final scheduled for Saturday, apart from the ghost of Yuri Kawamura, who played a pair games for Courage this season.

    Today's small news:

Kitagawa Hikaru moves to Albi from Urawa.

I am impressed with this move, first Hirao now Kitagawa.
If Albi can attract a few more very talented young players from Urawa,
like Norimatsu or Shikari, they might become a very strong team within the next few years.

Regarding Kitagawa, there is no doubt that she is a very exciting young player,
but i believe she still has some weaknesses she has to work on.
So moving to a team like Albi, where she is getting a lot of playing time hopefully, will help her to develope as a player.

You beat me about that, since, when I read unepomme's posts, I basically wanted to write the same: I am happy at the notion that Kitagawa can get more playing time in Albirex, and I agree that in the last years Urawa nurtured a bunch of good young players, but too few of them actually found a place as starters, so I am hoping they somehow end being spread around in other teams of Nadeshiko League.

I finally solved the mistery about Michi Goto and why I couldn't locate her team on the Liga Femenina's website: it turns out that Spanish Second Division has 7 different groups (!) and that on the website there is a tab that I had completely missed that allows to switch from one group to the other! :p
So, here you can see that Eibar won their first two games of the league.

The Eibar's website has the full roster of the team, including Michi Goto's profile. :)

The first two wins were an 1-2 away win vs Club Bizkerre on 9th of September and a 6-0 home win vs SD San Ignacio on 16th of September. According to this report, Michi Goto scored the last one of the 6 goals in that match.
(And a picture shows her in action: see below)

Wow, Nakada looks really charming in that wedding dress! :inlove: Ito is pretty too, but her sly smile makes her look funny, while Nakada is just elegant!

As I had previously mentioned, a win by Urawa would have made things much more interesting.
Now it looks like probably only INAC has any significant chance to challenge Beleza for the title...

I didn't watch the goals yet, but I am happy that Ueki scored a brace: it keeps making a case for her as a potential choice for Senior NT.

Division 2 keeps being very balanced: Harima had taken a slight advantage over other teams, but this draw means that, with tomorrow's and Monday's match, some other teams could catch up with them. I have the feeling that the run for 2nd place will keep being open until the last match-day.

Bunnys make one point, thus making even more difficult for Belle to catch them. We're going to see, but Okayama's task looks like Mission Impossible right now. :ninja:
