Hendrich's been injured so it makes sense that she gets some practice to get back in shape again.

    I hope Magull gets on...

You know, this Bayern team looked so much better going forward when Rolser and Magull were subbed on for Islacker and Skarvonkova respectively...

I really liked what I saw from Lohmann today, although I'll wait to see how she performs when meeting stronger teams than Bayer Leverkusen... nevertheless a good start for Bayern to the season, although I am curious about how they'll solve their midfield as the seasons progresses

And imagine how much better this looks when Rolfö takes her place on the left...
I think Lohmannn has already proven herself to be fully legit, previously dominating the mid-field in a defeat to Wolfsburg, where she started and finished the match as the games best CM player...?

So I'm honestly not shocked to see her impress against Bayer Leverkusen, and wouldn't be surprised to see her retain her first team role for a majority of this season too.

But Bayern's biggest test will come when injury occurs, as right now it's still unclear if their coach understands the best way to see his team function without key players.

Benkarth should start ahead of Zinsberger, but if Behringer's still the captain she's going to start, right?

Are Laudehr and Hendrich defenders, mid-fielders, or planned to be used as both..?

Lohmann and Magull looked excellent centrally, but will need to push two of last seasons regulars out of the starting 11 if they intend to find match time.

And this is with dynamic attackers like Gerhardt and Damnjanović returning from long term injury, not to be underestimated for their potential to improve the team either.

So there's probably still a lot of positive and negative developments in the future of this team.

and they still got Hendrich, Laudehr, Behringer & Vonkova to give playing time too.

in the meantime...........Potsdam looses it's first game. I was looking to somehow blame Kiwic,,,,,,,,,,,and yep there is it(a red for Kiwic)

Yeah, Behringer’s captain... so when fit she’s gonna play... and as I said; Leupolz’s vice-captain of this Bayern team so she’s gonna play, so it leaves Bayern with two similar midfielders lacking speed...

I believe Magull’s fighting for the same spot as Jill Roord sadly... although Magull’s a flexible player, I prefer her behind the striker who is 100% gonna be Nicole Rolser. So Däbritz and Rolfö on the flanks leave one spot left where I believe Lohmann has great chances to prove herself worthy...

Bayern backline is pretty much a lock; Maier - Wenninger - Demann - Faisst. So whether Hendrich can beat Wenninger or find a place in Bayern’s midfield to add much needed speed remains to be seen... not sure about Laudehr these days

I don’t think Skarvankova or Damjanovic are able to find a place in Bayern’s starting eleven. I much more prefer Berenstyen

Any team that think's it's OK to start Dieckmann in their mid-field is not going to have a smooth 90 mins of football...

But Potsdam's coach not starting Petermann may be the biggest concern here, with the clubs lack of faith in it's youth program rather surprising too, considering the success it's had in the past, and the genuine talent it still possess now.

I mean Dieckmann..? I know Potsdam have better mid-field youth options they could have promoted to the first team this season.

If Bayern believe Leupolz or Behringer capable of controlling the mid-field as a DM, they are going to have serious problems again vs stronger opposition at home and within European competition.

Behringer will still be a quality CM if partnered with a strong DM behind her, but if Bayern are serious about improving this season, Hendrich will become one of the anchor's of their mid-field.

And discussing other teams, even though Frankfurt looked terrible (worse than last season) facing Wolfsburg, it needs to be said they still posses a few players like Yokoyama, Martinez, Ebert, Aschauer, Gidion, who are all capable of providing significant improvements to their team.

While Freiburg seemed to use a very different starting 11 to the one that finished last season, meaning they'll probably improve as the season progress too, but just not enough to seriously compete for a UCL this time.

Leaving the future of Potsdam a serious mystery, as Essen appears to be a perfect platform to provide Oberdorf (aka baby Marozsan) a staring role in a league season people could witness a few junior internationals make a serious push for senior team recognition.

They don't possess Yokoyama anymore. She got back to Japan and, in the last two weeks, she scored three goals in her first two matches with her old team AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies (as a sign that it wasn't that she had unlearned how to score in Germany: it was the team around her that wasn't really able to set her up; also, she wasn't actually played as a striker in Frankfurt, but as winger: she was doing her best, but a winger she wasn't. Probably the fact that she's playing in her proper role in Japan will be more useful for Nadeshiko Japan in a WWC 2019 perspective).

Behringer... I don't want her to start for Bayern anymore  And I watched a lot of their games last season, and it's still a no for me where Hendrich should take her place

... I saw her name on the DFB's website, where she's still placed within Frankfurt's 2018/19 roster, and just thought this meant she was on a loan period, so...

But I guess this explains why they started without a real forward vs Wolfsburg lol.

Kiwic's atrocious defense is worser than I thought, take a look how she flubs her defensive stand as the Hof player dribbles right through her(#25) & Schmidt for the goal

Hoffenheim shouldn't of been that strong as they lost 3 starters from last season. So taking it that Potsdam has become that much weaker instead.

What did you expect after Wälti and Kemme left for Arsenal??
    Shame though that they did
Bundesliga getting more and more boring for every year

They didn't start Petermann, and stupidly deployed Dieckmann as Wälti's CM replacement, within a changed 3-4-3 Potsdam were also missing regulars like Ilestedt, Cramer, Siems, and their new Danish international Nielsen.

So I'm not 100% sure why the better junior internationals like Bahnemann, Graf, Kössler, are still left out of Potsdam's senior team. But you have to think Potsdam's performance was going to be negatively effected missing Petermann, Ilestedt, Siems, Cramer, Nielsen, in their starting 11..?

I mean, for a club that finished 4th with Kemme and Wälti in their team, I don't see why Potsdam replacing Prasnikar with Petermann, and Dieckmann with anybody remotely competent, couldn't see them instantly return to the same level witnessed last season.

As Kemme at her very best has never produced significantly better numbers than Petermann's last season with Freiburg.

I think it's probably more simple than that though; as football can often see some really strong creative players never fit the styles of certain clubs or coaches.

And that's why I feel Naomoto will probably have a better time at Freiburg, as Freiburg's not only a better team than Frankfurt, but also showcase a style of play that seems more focused around one and two touch football, a theme Naomoto's probably going to excel at (once she's healthy enough to play).

Apparently, Leupolz's the new captain while Wenninger's the co captain
which means Hendrich won't ever replace Wenninger back in the defense

edit: Behringer gave away her role as captain this summer because of her career approaching an end... her contract with Bayern's expiring after this season so this is probably her last one

I think Däbritz could claim to be a far more influential player within Bayern's system, so it's a little strange to see both Leupolz and Wenninger ahead of her in the coaches thoughts of individuals he trusts in key leadership roles.

And even if a league stand out like Magull has joined Bayern without a guaranteed first team place, I don't see how Hendrich won't become one of their first choice CM options.

The frailties in CM that still has me question Bayern's true elite level credentials were still on show versus relegation candidates Bayer Leverkusen; so Leupolz has a lot to prove if she intends to maintain her current first choice status.

Definitely, Däbritz strikes me as a leader type as well so I'm surprised about that as well... so unless Leupolz can produce some good performances again, I'm not quite sure about her captaining this Bayern team where I feel the captain now should be Kristin Demann

Good point... even if she's new to the club, Demann's currently elevated club and wnt status would also suggest her being a far better choice for the long term captain of Bayern.

But I’m really interested in watching Demann against better teams although she’s been fairly good against Wolfsburg so... shame really that she lacks speed, otherwise a perfect CB somehow used as a DM lol as I don’t really think that running a lot is her thing :cautious:

Lena Goessling is out for tomorrow's game. Does that mean WOB is going to be reduced to just two German starters, or give Doorsoun, Wedemeyer or Peter a try?

    Probably Wedemeyer I guess
If Peter starts, it's because the coaches love her
