PJ Masks is like the only thing my daughter cares about. Its tolerable in doses but I'd love to never have to see it again. She used to love Peppa Pig and I actually liked it because a lot of the adult characters are clever and funny in a subtle way.
source: https://www.mystatesman.com/sports/...ake-mls-happen-austin/iWxH9kkqoMaUsRNVVFSaLP/ Regardless, in theory we're stuck with the Acura sponsorship for another 18 months, from what I've heard. That is assuming, the Crew move to Austin and not an expansion team.
Hey Dougee is pretty good if you’re worn out on Peppa Pig. It has a bit more humor, has the same style animation as Peppa Pig, and I think has a lot of the same voice actors.
What incentive does he have to make any negotiations for a sponsor public at this point? None. I don't imagine PSV will have any issues finding a good sponsor here.
Considering the track record in Columbus I doubt any of the big players in Austin are going to be quick to give Fratass McTrustfund anything.
Normally we don’t respond to people from Austin that want the move to happen in this thread but I will bite Everything about his past says he will have issues. Barbasol sponsored the crew for a while and were looking to up their sponsorship to sponsor MLS as a whole instead of just the Crew, and then they started doing business with Precourt and backed out of it all together. Precourt couldn’t get Wendy’s, who will sponsor an ant farm competition if the person throwing it is from Columbus, to sponsor the team Acura was not gotten as a sponsor by precourt. The Columbus Business Partnership litterally asked them to throw some business the Crews way because Precourt couldn’t find a sponsor. This is one of the largest employers in the Columbus region that has been here for decades and is no small apples, the one Greeley referred to as “some Japanese car company” even though all their US designed cars are designed in Columbus. Mapfre only became a sponsor when a ticket rep cold called them about purchasing corporate season tickets. Now you could say Precourt wasn’t trying his hardest(which is what you will probably do), or you could go based off the fact Columbus fans have found out when he bought the team, he litterally just mailed letters to a bunch of people asking them to sponsor the team. He formed no business relationships with them, he just asked them for money. Aside from purchasing the crew at a low price, he has done nothing in his time here to show he is good at business or a good negotiator able to reel in the big fishes needed for sponsorship. So your right, he might not have problems finding a sponsor in Austin, but I would bet he does. Not because people don’t want to sponsor the team but because he is a crappy businessman.
A good sponsor? MLS clubs need numerous sponsors. The Crew list over 50 on their website: https://www.columbuscrewsc.com/club/corporate-partners And, of course, Garber mentioned lack of corporate support as a rationale for the relocation. PSV, in Austin, currently has zero announced corporate partners. And you're wondering why those of us in Columbus wonder when he's going to get around to lining up new sponsorship in Austin? Because it's a big challenge and hugely important for any club's fiscal health, that's why. Because it would show some concrete proof that he's making tangible progress on the ground in Austin towards actually fielding a team next season, that's why. Finally, you're asking why PSV would make public corporate partnerships? Because, for the sponsor, that's their entire purpose.
It's actually a pretty cool city, with lots of friendly people, great food, great music, and bats that fly out every night at sunset from underneath a bridge. There is a lot of good, even great things about Austin.
Don't forget Jeni's Ice Cream, now a national chain that originated in Columbus. They were a sponsor for years and stopped when PSV demanded they pay significantly more for their sponsorship. The statement from their people basically said Jeni's was never even communicated the reason for the increase it just took place and when they questioned it we're dismissed. Jeni's has 26 locations nationwide and retail distribution throughout the entire US and Canada. So it wasn't like they didn't have potential but he burned that bridge. Then there is DRAC, an association for businesses and residents in downtown Columbus. I joined not to long ago but in speaking to some people who have been members for years it is apparent that not only has PSV never reached out for sponsorship they haven't even reached out for ticket sales. Some of the cities largest lawfirms and property management companies are members of the group so it is a massive missed opportunity. Lastly let me tell you my experience with PSV. I am in marketing and several of my clients are large national clients. In the past four years we have done ad buys and sponsorship deals with MLB teams, minor league baseball teams, a lot for tennis/golf tournaments, and an NHL team. I reached out to the Crew in 2015 about potentially connecting with them. I wanted to run some ads for my own business (not a lot of money) but also wanted to get info to review it with some of my larger clients in Columbus and Ohio. I had to reach out to them because despite being a season ticket holder and a business owner in downtown who belonged multiple business organization in the area I had never been contacted by anyone at PSV. So I called the FO and explained what I was looking for and why. I got dismissed. I never got the information I asked for, in fact I never even got a follow up call. My clients did sponsor a minor league baseball team for 60k annually over two years and ran a correspoding crossmarketed print/direct mail campaign for 5k a month (60k per year). All PSV had to do was call me back and they would have been a part of that discussion. I couldnt even get them to send me an email. So I don't think that PSV will do well with sponsors or business partners at all. To others point, not because people don't want to do business with the team but because they are terrible at what they do.
"There is a lot"... I am starting to think that Hang's BS account has been hacked by the Hipster 6. No way would he ever use such poor grammar.
I don't know. I've been to Austin. I liked it. I didn't like it as much as I expected. I think it's because I went in with expectations that it was SXSW 24x7. It's not. It's much more than that. And on on reflection it makes me appreciate it more. Have you ever been there? I think Precourt and Garber are the assholes here, not Austin. I'm certainly not gonna say ******** everything about Austin when it's Precourt and MLS who are the real villains here.
