Yup, they were rebranded Nomis, but the detailing and overall presentation was better. They were the same boots, but the Pele Sports just looked a bit cooler. It's too bad that they went under before their new product launch scheduled for 2014. They had an interesting new control boot, the Manipulator, in the works. Their speed boot the Trinity 3e was also unique to the brand and had an amazing synthetic and was as light as an adizero (was also available in full K-leather). They could have really used a couple of big names wearing their boots.

Well you're in luck because I'm pretty sure Stylo Matchmakers upcoming Heirship 67 is the exact same boot.

LOL, this boot just keeps going on and on under new names...over a decade, now...at this rate it might stick around as long as the Copa Mundial!

I had a very brief sponsorship with Nomis. They had released a women's colour way and wanted to try and get the brand out there, they weren't my favourite boot even after i got sent a special pair with all the plastic Nomis branding removed so they were just very soft leather boots. I don't think the boots took off I actually think the company folded quite soon after. I've still got them somewhere. The women's boots were the same as the men's they were just in a shiny lilac colour. I remember one of the things they advertised was that you could wear the studs on concrete and they wouldn't wear down. I wore mine on a bad sand based astro turf and trust me the studs soon wore down! But looks like the model of the boot lived on.

Over 10 years I reckon looking back im going to guess at 13/14 years. The best of it for me anyway, is that it isn’t a good design I found their boots to be so bulky you couldn’t feel anything under the tongue it was so thick. It led to a really heavy touch and there was nothing you could do about it.

Also it’s obviously never been a very good seller look how many companies have folded that had it as their main boot.

But the shoes have a nike swoosh with a popular player they would sell everywhere.

You have to keep in mind that Pele Sports billed the 1970 as well as their 1962 Redeemer as being built around comfort and protection. Even adidas couldn't sell this concept to the masses with the Nitrocharge. Everything was trending towards lightweight and the 1970 just wasn't what everyone wanted...and sometimes it's not even about quality. The Pele Sports Trinity was as good and light as any speed boot on the market, but didn't sell at all, while Nike was able sell the clunky, blister machine Superfly, with the gimmicky sense stud and get it on the feet of a ton of professionals. Marketing and sponsorship is where it's at these days. In today's market, the only reason New Balance and Under Armor football are still standing are the deep pockets of their parent companies.

I think you've got a point there, but like others said, if there was a swoosh on it they'd probably sell.

    Keeping that Pred tongue alive.

Makes me wonder if some obscure brand will offer a collar boot long after they're out of style.

My recent boot adventures have led me to these two silos and for the first time in my footy-playing life I’m saying the adidas one is a lot better than the Nike. The Nemeziz 18.1 is simply tighter, more responsive, has a more aggressive stud pattern, a more solid feel, and a padded touch that reminds me of a leather toebox that never ‘thins out’ as it gets broken in.

As an added bonus, the Nemeziz is more durable (in my experience) and the insoles have a better, softer lining material.

Evospeed SL leather. Don't normally like leather boots but really had my eye on the SL line (and couldn't find any decently priced SL S in my size) and reviews said these were probably a better boot than the SL since they will hold up better. Figured I'd give them a shot. Plus they were $40 :alien:

Nice pickup, I've had my eye on the same ones on eBay.
Did you go true to size?

Yeah. They're just a bit tight in the toe, but nothing terrible. I expect they'll stretch out a bit since they're leather and be perfect after that. I think if I sized up they'd likely be a bit too big for my preference. Nothing bothers me more than having too much toe space in my boots/shoes lol

I went 1/2 size up on the Evospeed SL I just got off eBay, based on the review from SR4U, but I think true to size would have been a better fit. Now I've got to decide whether to keep them or sell them on.

Let me know when you get them. I'm curious how you like the fit going .5 size up

Puma Evospeed SL...definitely go true to size. The .5 size up I've got is just too long, in my opinion. It fits pretty well every where else though. The synthetic upper is really flexible and very comfortable. They're also, no surprise, super lightweight.
