Watched the game against Dortmund last night. Attacked and controlled the game well, unlucky to be 2-0 down at half time.

Beautiful goal by Andre Almeida and a nice goal by Alfa Semedo (who really impressed me)

Alfa Semedo needs to start he is amazing dominates everyone in his path, He should go straight to the National team senior squad. He will run Italy off the pitch with his domination. He makes everyone on the pitch look like ants, Not only is he a physical specimen but his technique and vision are quite good as well. A future world class player!

No youtube clip does the man justice this is the best I can find.

Alfa Semedo seem to the best propect for the new season. I had noticed him against Vitória Setúbal already, and aginst Borussia Dortmund he impressed me even more. He's faster than William Carvalho, and more technical than Danilo. It's pre-season but he looks like he's set to secure a sport in the starting XI.
On the other hand I am not impressed at all with Zivkovic, Lema, Castillo, Fereyra, I hope the last 2 aren't the new Gimenes.

ATM best lineup using Steven Vitoria 4-3-3 logic
    Odisseas
Andre Almerda - Jardel - Dias - Grimaldo
    Fejsa
    Semedo - Pizzi
    Salvio Jonas Cervi

tbh I don't see this working we do well pressing opponents but salvio and Cervi aren't going to do a good enough job acting as a SS.

I think we need to go to a central based 4-4-2 and try Salvio at RB he defended well enough for Argentina playing as a RWB.

Salvio - Jardel Dias - Grimaldo
    Fejsa
    semedo - pizzi - cervi
    Jonas - Castillo/Felix

My girlfriend and I are heading to Lisbon in September and were interested in catching the Benfica vs C.D Aves game. Would this be a good game to attend? Would you recommend attending a Benfica game? What's the atmosphere like at the stadium?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Narrow win. Benfica should have done a little better, fenerbace did virtually nothing the entire game. Though it improved in the 2nd half, Benfica's attack was largely inoffensive, Cervi's goal was nothing but the Turkish GK''s booboo. So far, Ferreyra has been nothing but another one of the likes of Seferovic and Jimenes. Castillo was a bit better. It's only the start of the new season so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
The second leg in Istanbul will be tough, let's hope the home goal will be enough to go through.

Ferreyra is absolute shit we need to get rid of him asap. I don't know what games Rui has been watching this clown has no business playing for this club.

Jimenez is off to a good start in the PL but our league was a little too much for him.

It would be hilarious if Jimenez keeps it up for Wolves.

His main problem while he was at Benfica was called Jonas, and Mitroglou to a lesser extent. He scored a header on a great cross delivered by Ruben Neves who also scored a awesome free kick. How did FS not pick up for the WC? But I digress.
It was the first EPL round and Everton was down to 10 men, too early to tell how he's doing, Seferovic was on fire at the start of the previous season but it didn't last long. Jimenes is also pretty irregular, I'll never forget those 3 seemingly easy games he got to start on that ended up costing the league title because he failed to score.

Benfica ties away in turkey, good enough for a place in the next round of champions league qualification.

Beautiful pass by Castillo. Big signing.

PAOK are the next opponents in qualifying on 8/21 and 8/29

Any news on Krovinovic? Shame on his injury as he was playing so well. Probably would have been called for Croatia with how well he was playing

From my understanding best case is he can start light training in Sept. We'll likely only see him in action in Oct given his current progress.

Great food and hustle to get the ball back to lead to that goal. Only complaint I have is that he seemed to disappear again in the second half. Overal he’s slowly improving and if he can keep growing we’ll be good on the striker front.

Frustrating result, reminded me of the PAOK game. We are controlling games well, keeping most of the game in the opponents half, winning balls quickly, but similar to the PAOK game their keeper saved them yesterday.

Overall the team has several attempts on goal, Ferreyra to me is still not doing his job properly and taking some shots on net. The guy just seems to want to run in and out of the box, collects a ball and will pass it off, hoping someone else shoots the damn ball. Seems like a guy that could do well in a 442 but in the 433 it doesn’t fit for him. With us signing another midfielder, I think we are staying with the 433 to be able to use these guys.

Last thought is that it was amazing to see a young kid like João score his first derby goal! Seeing Porto drop points didn’t make this feel as horrible as I thought it would.

PAOK 4-1 Benfica, I wouldn't have bet on such a dilated result before the game, and the beginning of the game was not heading towards that either but Benfica was able to turn things around and secure a spot in the CL group stage. I still believe finalization is a problem for Benfica. Ferreyra still has everything to prove, Castillo has been a bit better, hopefully Jonas will be back soon.

Those first 20mins till Jardel were horrible. I was getting seriouly worried we would be lucky to advance and then the team just did a whole 180, got back to how we saw them in Lisboa and were all over them. Only difference being we finished our chances to get an extremely comfortable win. João got another run out too which is great for the kid. I think once Castillo shows up Ferreyra is done for a bit. Curious if he gets benched again.
