5'7" 143lbs Busio has done quite well off his time in USL and in 1st team practice. No speed merchant there.
Those old guys don't dominate in MLS either. It's not that these guys get pushed out by Zlatan or Rooney. And it's a shame, because kids are just going to keep leaving when they turn 18.
Good for them. The league needs to eventually be compensated if you want the good time to continue to roll. Who are the old guys?
The league needs to play young Americans if wants to keep any of the DA or MLS academy talent. It's a chicken or the egg game, but since the kids have already said "I'm not going to chance my career on the off chance that I'll be given opportunities to play in MLS", then the choice is pretty clear from where I'm standing. http://www.espn.com/soccer/major-le...ice-aspirations-are-limiting-domestic-players Who are they? Take your pick. The average age of MLS XI skews older, which is fine. But the spots in the midfield and up top are dominated by older foreigners (and, since we're talking about playing time for prospects, even guys like Almiron and Josef Martinez are "older", despite the fact that those are outliers in terms of ability) who step right into MLS roles.
RSL play their young. That didn't stop Booth, Ledezma, and Soto from leaving. Kids aren't leaving for playing time. Most will end up on reserve teams or U-teams.
Were you one of those who complained constantly that our teams were too athletic and not skilled enough? You can't have it both ways. Carleton is as skilled of a young player as we have. You aren't going to create 20 Mbappe's in a factory. Every player has things they can improve on.
For anyone not paying attention, Weah is starting up top for PSG alongside Di Maria and Neymar in about 15 minutes.
Subbed out for Mbappe, no real shame in that on face value, anyone see the game? How'd he look? 1-1 on a Neymar PK with 10 min left, hopefully PSG will fail to get another.
Dammit, Mbappe scores At least the two goalscorers for PSG aren't guys Weah is realistically in competition with for minutes right now anyway.
Weah played okay but nothing really stood out. He seemed a little too stationary at times, but the runs he made were decent. Too loose with possession. Combined well with Neymar once.
Weah was fine. Looked like one of those Arsenal games in August when the transfer window was open. The cmids were non existent.
From the sound of it so far PSG has no interest in letting him go on loan. He's gonna be the main back up to Cavani and likely also see some time on the wing. I said going into the year, if he can get around 1200 minutes at PSG this year the he's had a successful year. I think he gets there with a handful of goals.
