I like the Miami look if they're primarily pink. A black badge would stand out nicely on a pink shirt. I always liked the old school Palermo jerseys from the 70s.

reminded me of this running commentary

Why don't we like flamingos, Geoff?
    Because they stink, Craig
And why do they stink, Geoff
Well, Craig, they pee on themselves

The article I read (from the UK) said the birds are blue herons, not flamingos.
Anybody got any blue heron jokes?

I see one of those almost every day. Sometimes I stop the car and yell at it until it flies away, most times driving the car past is enough - those are not blue herons. Maybe they are and they're just gender-fluid which might explain the pink legs.
With one leg up in the air I considered it might be some sort of rare Florida crane, but the pink screams flamingo and I bet one of their first pieces of swag is a lawn ornament.

Maybe just a really bad artist.

Heron are blue in our region and can be observed frequently along the wet portions of the C&O Canal towpath and both shores of the Potomac. Beautiful birds in flight

yeah, shrimp will make you turn pink. One day I hope to eat enough shrimp to make that happen to me too, I've been training my whole life :)

I find they look like pterodactyls, especially coming in for a landing. If this one (could be many, I can't tell them apart, but we only get one at a time) would eat fewer of my fish I wouldn't chase it away every time I see it. Hell, if it'd chase away the stupid geese I'd feed it :)

For a while we strung fishing line from one side of the pond to the other, about 10 feet off the ground and we didn't see one for the six months it stayed up there - apparently they are very particular about having enough room to make an escape and the fishing line scared them from landing. So, they're somewhat smart.

Is Beckham still proposing to build his stadium where it's predicted to be under water in 20 years?

Yes, apropos of the logo, Beckham also is investing heavily in human genetic modifications. His players either will have long legs like the herons or gills so they can better adapt to the aquatic nature of the Miami "stadium/aquarium".

I don't know about Beckham, but I generally take the side of the taxpayers who are about to lose an irreplaceable asset, even if it will play wet in 20 years.

If confirmed, this may be the best logo in all MLS. Finally not a FC (even in CF means the same, at least it sounds and reads different), the colors combination reminds of the Art Deco in SO.BE and other Miami areas, I like the birds (one of the most common types in Florida), and also the MMXX fits perfectly.
I only hope that they don't f... it up with the shirt.

I guess I'll get used to it, but it still feels pretty weird to see CR7 playing in serie A with an Italian team.

They don't play Miles Davis's Sketches of Spain as the defenders part so he can score and take off his shirt either. Fun match and it was only a little bit about him.

With Real, Ronaldo scored 450 goals (all competitions) in 9 years, it could be that also in serie A he will eventually find the countermeasures to the defenders and score a bunch of goals (Higuain during his last season at Napoli scored 36 goals in 35 games, and that was just serie A games); but it's all brand new for him, the system of play is completely different than La Liga, La Liga is a lot faster and more spectacular to see (like the Premier League) but serie A gives you a lot less space, the defenders really breath on your neck and bite your heels, especially the smaller teams whose goal is not to lose. I think Ronaldo will do well in Italy but we'll see if he will be the same scoring machine he used to be at Real. A lot of it will also depend on how Juve plays and make him play.

As an aside I opted to buy the ESPN+ service rather than RAI primarily because my cable bill looks like the national debt of several small countries and because the cable service from Cox is getting flaky again. As far as it goes the ESPN+ real time stream was excellent, the Brit announcers grate on me but life is what life is. I had to interrupt the Juve match a bit after the half and then came back to watch the "on demand" replay. I was able to go right to where I let off and moved freely both forward and backward with no buffering delays. Best 4.99 I've spent since my old Navy days in the Philippines. I'll continue my Nick learns Italian adventure watching the Italian content on MHz Choice.

Espn + makes a lot more sense in your case, and it's a great channel. Rai for me is not only calcio, it's the channel I watch the most, news, movies, talk shows, all from Italy, it's like the air I breath. It's $10 / month but I would pay for it even if it was 10 times higher.

Comcast is flaky too. They still haven't come to an agreement with beIN Sports.

I thought we were at the point where people are saying it's an egret. Miami is looking at making a Poplar Point style development over at the public golf course over by the airport. Overton was too small for new investors.

Agree with @fatbastard, the guy has been overrated for decades. He won once with both Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach and multiple other US and foreign national team players. He also decided Homare Sawa was a D-mid, not one of the prime attacking players of her generation. He managed to miss the playoffs entirely with a squad containing Wambach, Sawa and Sonia Bompastor. His teams consistently struggle to score and his talent evaluation is bizarre. I hope they turn things around at the 'Plex, because that franchise is a train wreck and has been since the Hendricks sold it.

I've never been a huge Sawa fan even when Japan went on that run and won the World Cup.

Headline on mls.com for the post rankings.

MLS Power Rankings: DC United make their move, Atlanta march on

Do the interns they have writing these realize that historically, marching on Atlanta didn’t end well for the city and it’s inhabitabts?
