Not sure it makes a difference. Any of the Pot 2 teams we could potentially face should be manageable.

It’s a stupid system if the Champions League finalists can end up in Pot 3. We’ve conquered all of Europe. Is that not enough for Pot 1?

I'm willing to bet that nobody in pots 2 & 3 would want to meet Liverpool,

So Benfica are through to the next round.

Celtic are out. Should more be expected of them in Europe?

yes - but - it's probably better for them to be in the EL.

where it will hurt badly is the money. it might help us too - as one of the pots had to be split with them if I recall.

AEK was the more clinical of the two and also defended the better.

PAOK play Benfica in the last qualifying round. PAOK did us a favour beating Basel earlier so hope they can do it again. Benfica lose and we are in pot 2 instead of 3.

Yeah EL is more their level, but Rodgers European record continues to be shocking. Considering his domestic record, you'd think he'd have improved by now.

Be good to avoid Napoli and also draw Lokomotiv Moscow from Pot One

Many a side will fear Liverpool.....a champions league finalist team is not an ideal opponent in the early stages

feel somewhat the same, but having said that - PSG, Dortmund and Inter Milan wouldn't be ideal!

I defer to your wisdom and all that - but we can't lose a point! only 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 etc! ;)

I’ve no doubt we can get through any group, the issue is how much effort it takes and the subsequent impact on league games.

An easy group allows us to more easily rotate squad around these fixtures and have a strong fresh team at the weekend.

I hear you but there are very few easy groups, if any at all.

we've all been impressed with our bench strength, so it could be put up or shut up time.

One of which was ours last season. Definitely not expecting lighting to strike twice but I fear no team.
