Who are those people? Obviously the is Levy in the middle. I'm also guessing that is Ledley King on the right.
"Accompanied by our Chairman Daniel Levy, Executive Director Donna-Maria Cullen, Haringey’s Chief Executive Zina Etheridge and Assistant Director of Regeneration and Planning Helen Fisher, Cllr Ejiofor* took an in-depth tour of the new stadium site ..." and, of course, Ledders. *Cllr Ejiofor is the new leader of the Haringey Council.
What a beautiful sight! For those of you that live in the area, what does the old High Street look like now? I heard they were taking out a lot of the old shops and such to build a walkway.
I can't say with certainty - and I obviously don't live in the area - but from all the aerial photos I've seen, it appears that all the demolition/construction is limited to the rectangle between Park Lane, the High Road, Northumberland Park to the north (the street just in front of the Sainsbury's) and Worcester Ave (the street that ran just behind the old East Stand. doesn't mean it won't happen, of course; but I've not seen anything yet.
Some more great photos from SSC. Lick to enlarge. The photo with the white, red and blue circles, each colour represents New White hart lane, Emirates Stadium and Stanford Bridge, click to enlarge.
That kop end reminds me a bit of the Vélodrome in Marseille. Hopefully we'll have a similar atmosphere.
I had every intention of getting over this Fall, but things have been so tight at work with managers coming and going that it looks like the only week I can get off is 16-22 September. I can't get away early for the first home game v Liverpool (if I could even get a ticket) and while I could get in the next Saturday, we'll be away to Brighton. We will have a CL group stage game that week, but won't know until later this month whether or not it will be at home. By the time I know, how high will airfare be? Even Wednesday will be away from Hillsborough both midweek and Saturday. So what a few weeks ago seemed certain now appears unlikely - at least until Spring.
I was always intimidated by the difficulty of getting a ticket at the old Lane, and had to work around somewhat packed family visits. Assuming it will be easier to get tickets now, I definitely want to get there but it'll be spring at the earliest.
