No. Again, he cannot transfer to the k-league because he's ineligible for military or national police service. He would have to be a civil servant and play weekends in the K-4. That is unless he's granted a deferment by 청와대.
As an outsider, that's a ********ed up system when his service can't even be adjusted so he can get the opportunity to play at highest level in Korea. It wouldn't take anything from his service, just a rule set to keep people down. Reckon his Spurs contract has a clause which will suspend it for the time of his national service. Fingers crossed for the Asian Games.
📖 Sonny’s story so far…The journey continues. 👊#COYS pic.twitter.com/respb3qM3u— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 20, 2018
SHM's gonna play the season opener vs Newcastle then head to Indonesia for the AG; apparently SHM will be available for the first group stage match
rather have him up his form through EPL fixtures then join the squad at AG. or maybe sooner the better. to practice and gel with the teammates
There is no point, Kim Hak-bum basically made a stupid excuse to justify his selection of Hwang Eui-jo. Hwang Eui-jo was going to get selected no matter what, and Kim Hak-bum gave this excuse to save his own ass.
Conscientious objectors, even if they're willing to serve in other non-combative areas for longer terms, aren't immune from delaying their service. Modern day Hacksaw Ridge situation as a lot of Mormon Koreans serve prison time due to their beliefs. With that in mind, I highly doubt they'll even bend for Sonny, especially since famous celebrities have been thrown the book for trying to take loopholes or leaving the country in lieu of service. *edit
📋 Our #ICC2018 squad travelling to the USA has been confirmed. 🇺🇸#SpursInUSA pic.twitter.com/7c9ekc6NuO— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 22, 2018 Apparently Son is going to be playing in the ICC pseudo-cup before he leaves for the Asian Games
Repeating as he will even play in at least one PL match before joining AG squad. #thfc Heung-Min Son signs a new five-year contract. He's set to be involved in the tour of the US and will stay with the squad for the opening PL match at Newcastle, before heading off to the Asian Games. Important to have him available for that, with Kane & Alli returning late.— Ben Pearce (@BenPearceSpurs) July 20, 2018
ofc go if you can. Make sure to bring a Korean flag and SHM poster as well and hope he signs something for you.
If you have the money yeah you should go. If Sonny came to Toronto I wouldn't go because I'm poor but I would fcking love to see him in person. Also make sure to bring a sign that says "Bigsoccer Korea" lol.
