Sounds like the river plate match wasn't planned too will. At a soccer game @FloridaAtlantic Tickets ranged from 30-80 dollars. They ran out of food and beverage within 10 min of halftime. Saw an employee use his bare hands to stuff the few remaining hot dogs in a Foreman grill to sell to people. People are hungry and thirsty smh— Giselle M. (@Gisellemaranch1) July 14, 2018
Ok here we go... Philadelphia 1 Frankfurt 0 13,954 Boca Juniors Deportivo Independiente Medellin in Boca Raton is actually on July 21, so I had that wrong Manchester United vs. Club America will be on July 20 so I had that wrong too, ugh.
The highlight of the Liga MX preseason - the doubleheader of the Supercopa MX and the Campeon de Campeones Supercopa: Nexaxa 1 - Monterrey 0 Campeon de Campeones Tigres 4 - Santos Laguna 0 Stubhub Center, attendance looked quite poor. Better for the second match, but far from full... You'd think, with a trophy on the line, playing this in Mexico might actually make more money...
Wow, the upper deck wasn't even open for the doubleheader at Stunhub Center. Last year's edition was sold out. This could be the last year this is played in L.A.
Nobody wants to go to that clown show so tickets are readily available dirt cheap. Plus Levi stadium is a dump when it comes to watching soccer, actually it's a dump 99% of the time.
Wow, it doesn't look like the upper decks are even open, and mid-level is going for $13! You can get VIP for under $100. This is only a few years removed from Manchester United vs L.A. Galaxy drawing 81k on a weekday at the Rose Bowl. I guess several things could have happened. 1) Oversaturaton, with Man U coming over every year. (2) Mourinho effect - he plays the most boring style (3) Man U haven't won anything in several years. (4) Perhaps the whole market for "glory" friendlies in the US has been oversturated? We'll see in the ICC. (5) World Cup year.
I don't expect many/any fans of the MLS team for this kind of match anyway. We're tired of these - the novelty factor wore off long ago.
The topic in the Soccer in the USA forum said 7,000-something for one game and 13,000-something for the other. They won the 2017 EFL Cup and 2016-2017 Europa League. Those aren't top competitions, but you can't say they "haven't won anything."
So Eintracht Frankfurt has three losses and a draw against MLS sides.? Apparently you can bring a Frankfurter to America, but you can't make it a Hot Dog..... [sorry.. ]
Would people like to compare ticket prices for MLS games and friendlies (including the International Champions Cup) at the same stadium? On July 28 for Red Bull Arena Section 226, Ticketmaster is charging $144 for Benfica vs. Juventus and $61 for the Red Bulls vs. Columbus.
Meanwhile you can get a ticket to Manchester United - San Jose for $11 on Stubhub Manchester United against Club America isn't doing much better either - $15 and the upper deck also does not seem open.
One more just announced. Memphis will host its first pro outdoor soccer game since 1980 when the Rapids take on Tulsa Roughnexcks FC on Sept. 1st. This is to hype the new Memphis USL franchise starting next year by bringing in Tim Howard, who lives in Memphis and is an adviser to the team. The logo and such of the new team will be revealed as part of the event.
The RSL game against Frankfurt was more the USL Monarchs against Frankfurt. There weren't any RSL regular starters playing in the game at all.
#BVB are unhappy with the pitch at Soldier Field in Chicago. It’s too “blunt-edged” and cannot be properly watered due to the artificial turf beneath the grass field. Ball is not rolling smoothly + increased injury risk. Reporting by @DirkKrampe. https://t.co/sv2ZE433pA— Stefan Buczko (@StefanBuczko) July 19, 2018 Pulisic be careful!!!
