Figured it'd be better to create a thread so the transfer thread doesn't get crowded. Next game against OGC Nice on Saturday @ 1 PM ET
Thanks - good idea. As for the first match, its early but there are players that don't seem to have the quality to play for us. Petrovic especially.
Much better performance today - Matheus and Raphinha again with excellent performances, Viviano also good. Acuna will need to put in a shift to stake a place in the first team at this rate (assuming he's playing as winger). Great to see Mathieu at the back again. Jovane Cabral also was a bright spark - he could be the next 'Gelson' It looks like Peseiro is testing out a 4-3-3 but with Wendel going forward a lot it looks like a 4-2-3-1 formation. We have difficulties with a midfield trio of Petrovic / Misic / Wendel, its way too slow and we get exposed defensively.
Wings and defense were great, attavk was meh, midfield was atrocious. Misic and Petrovic have had enough chances. Sell them. Viviano has been a pleasant surprise. Defs needs to lose some weight though.
Too much pasta How does Petrovic keep escaping each transfer window unscathed? He should have been gone 2 years ago. Anyways things should get better with Bruno Fernandes. Hopefully Geraldes can step up.
At this point we should just accept Petrovic as a staple of the club lol Didn’t catch the game but it’s good to hear Matheus and Raphinha played well.
He played the last 30 minutes against Nice. Didn't really stand out. Hopefully he gets a start next game.
Im curious about that. I wonder if theres any substance to these rumours that he might be on his way out. I dont see why he would be getting so little playing time if there wasnt any truth to them. Especially with sich weak competition in the midfield.
I think there is a game today. Nothing on the Sporting calendar but Sport TV is showing Sporting vs. Lausanne @ 2 PM on their guide. Lausanne is a 3rd league Swiss team.
It was supposed to be against Fenerbahce but it got cancelled. The Turkish team would have been a good test at this point of the pre-season.
This preseason seems quite a bit less organized than last year. The schedule they released a month ago doesn't seem to be accurate at all.
Well there's been so much turmoil its not surprising. A couple of weeks ago we didn't have a coach and there's still questions as to who our director of football is.
Nice to see Geraldes starting, Jovane also deserves a shot. Matheus Pereira started every game so far. Castaignos is just LOL
Castaignos 1-0... LOL Nice build up, started with a backheel by Geraldes and Castaignos finished it off
