Once beloved by many, if not every citizen of the republic, it seems our captain has fallen by the wayside. Our captain since the age of 22, Rafael Marquez is a national icon. But what guarantee do we have that he won't get hotheaded and lose his temper in a do-or-die situation, again?

Mexico enters 2010 with its seemingly-most talented squad ever assembled. It would be very unfortunate if our advancement in the World Cup is jeopardized by personal mishaps from our captain like the ones against the U.S. and Argentina in tournaments past.

While not likely to occur, our defense is strong enough, and bench deep enough, that our coaching staff has 76 days to seriously explore other possibilities.

I tend to agree with u Hugo, but he already said this will be his last world cup, so he is going. I think because this will be his last world cup he is gonna play his balls out, but if he starts to fack up I wouldn't mind if Aguirre drops him in favor of a Moreno-Maza pairing in the back.
