I'm just a guy sitting on my bed giving my opinion and I may be wrong, but I'm not sure experience means all that much anymore. Not to us anyway. When I say that I assume we're talking about "experience playing in tournaments." Screw it. Call up the Cesar Montes and Edson Alvarez and Jona Gonzalez etc of the world and play them in all the moleros available. Let them make the mistakes and let in the goals they're going to let in. Because some of the guys with "experience" have failed us miserably in games against Chile, Germany, Brazil, etc.

He apologizes for not accepting the offer. Their alternate choice for the job will be announced in a few hours.
you're fake news bro... you take one sentence and make a whole bs story out of it while ignoring all the other stuff he said that contradicts your story.
I never quite understood why Hugo gets so much hate. His coaching career has been very good. First to win Back to Back Liga MX championships with UNAM, Copa de Campeones winner, Terresa Herrera Cup and made CCC final. At the national team level he made the GC final and got 3rd place in Copa America with the NT scoring the most goals ever at the tourney. But he we are riding Almeyda's nuts.. I'm not sure Hugo would call other coaches for advice because of his ego but that is what makes him a good choice for the national team. Hugo really believes Mexico can be world cup champions. He doesnt see playing with Mexicans as a handicap. Almeyda: "I believe in the Mexican player." Also Almeyda: "Only having Mexican players makes winning difficult." I do think that with the right assistant coach that Hugo would make Mexico into a really competetive team.
How long is Hugo been out of the managing game? Can he get up from his current job and manage Mexico instantly? What do you think his system and style be with this current crop of Mexican talent? I've been looking through foreign-born managers that won at least a Liga MX title and I thought Américo Gallego was an interesting name. He has a better club manager resume than Hugo. And this guy is practically begging to work again. The only issue is that I'm not sure if he wants to manage international football. https://mexico.as.com/mexico/2018/02/19/futbol/1519005915_542804.html In the past, Américo has endorsed Hugo for the vacant managerial position of Mexico back in 2006. https://www.nacion.com/puro-deporte...or-mexicano/K6MSZLOH5ZH2XNVXWSHPKILLLI/story/
Matías Almeyda es la primera opción del nuevo titular del organismo, Yon de Luisa, pero también verá a otros entrenadores.
I hate the way he talks ab Let me take a stab at why Hugo gets so much hate: Because he is a pompous jerk. He is rude to the journalists he works with and coaches he disagrees with. The shit he says is borderline xenophobic at times. Change his nationality to American and his color to white, and the way he talks about foreigners is Trump like rhetoric, and I won’t back away from this claim. Yes, he is the best player in Mexico’s history. No one will take that away from him. He also did well as a coach at some points. No one will take that away from him. But it’s called being a decent and respectful human being toward others. The fact that he was a great player doesnt mean he knows everything or that he is always right as he thinks.Being a decent person toward others goes a long way sometimes.
You only feel this way because you aren't used to the idea that you as a Mexican can accomplish big things. Or maybe YOU do but your upbringing and fortunate circumstances make you feel like no one else can.
Idk man...I’m out here sin papeles and in a PhD program. I have receipts if you need em. Don’t talk just to talk.
