Anyone who thinks that England shouldn’t of had a penalty is clearly mad too. Lingard was fouled late on too Btw is Mina seeing game time at Barca? Really like the look of gim
fans of other teams. let's do an exercise here.... England have gotten 3 penalties in 4 games so far in this world cup. Can you think how many games it would take for your team in major tournaments to have gotten 3 penalty kicks?? I will try for Italy: - Euro 2016 vs Germany - World Cup 2010 vs New Zealand - Euro 2008 vs France
No Vermaelen was amazing as the 3rd CB this year. Mina seems like a CB for a team that doesn't attack with their whole team like Barca does. There are plenty of great teams he would be comfortable in His stock has risen so for Barca and Mina sake they should sell him. He will do great whatever he goes
Colombia was technically better, if Colombia played only football, it would have many chances to win. The English are equal to Neymar, but without talent and with dishonest media.
How do you explain that people you want England to lose or had no horse in this game suddenly sided with the English Maybe the other side acted very badly? Also as a Brazilian why are clean this year and in 2014 they were dirty vs Brazil
What does that even mean? Why do I hate england? The Portuguese colonised and raped South America not england
i better watch what I say or they might give "the mighty Harry Kane" another penalty kick to pad his stats
Video too cropped to tell much from that. Need to know how much time Stones had to react to Falcao being on the ground in front of him. There is some slight contact to the side of the head, although not the face.
Better take all those penalties away from Ronaldo too as he’s obviously average Kane should’ve had another two penalties against Tunisia. When teams stop trying to play WWE in the box against us then we’ll stop getting them These are clear blatant penalties and it’s just so amateurish lol especially with VAR now.
Ok, fair enough as I haven’t checked the Colombian forum and I apologise if that’s the case. Tbh, I haven’t seen the reaction from Henderson, only the actual butt and Henderson going down but if he held his forehead then he’s stupid and fair enough of any criticism heading his way.
There were several games decided in this tournament that didn't follow what many people would have regarded as dishing out justice to the losing side. In some of them, the team you felt had not achieved what it would have deserved was from Conmebol and the opponent from UEFA (e.g., Peru v Denmark). In others, it was a CAF team against a side from UEFA (e.g., Morocco v Portugal). But this was not one of them. And that is not going to change by fans of Conmebol pretending otherwise. You don't need to be a fan of England to recognize that either. This is true even if England didn't show enough for anyone to know how they might have done against a Colombia team that had come to legitimately play football. But against a Colombia side that hadn't come to play football, and instead was more focused on ruining the game and turning into a contest decided through other means, England were the deserved winners for sure.
GIF like those don't show the whole picture, and are why we get some really shit conversations. As @Hayaka said, the whole picture is that Stones was slightly off balance after a hard tackle, falling forward over Falcao. Was it intentional? To me, from the whole action, I'm not totally sure. It looks bad when you only play the 2 seconds of slow motion replay, but that is also showing only what the creator wants others to see. To give all an example, here is a series of photos of Trippier versus various Colombia players. It could be said after this that Muriel is taunting Trippier, showing himself to be unsporting. But there is also this: Or this: both are Trippier tackling hard, and it seems unfair. But here is another: Fair tackle? Maybe, but the foot is above the ball, so maybe not. But what was before that, was it a slip (as we have seen many times in Russia from various players), or intentional? The point is that single images and small clips only serve to inflame one side or the other and don't give a more complete context. And rather than talking about the match as a whole, and in a more complete manner, it raises emotions already higher than they are, and which leads to a shouting match and posturing and takes away from an active discussion.
The Guardian setting the record straight. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/04/cloud-hanging-world-cup-fifa-england-colombia
No problem with England. They had good players and made good partitions in the World Cup. The problem that the English critique of others is not valid for itself. Any Colombian knows he made mistakes, all Brazilians know of Neymar's mistakes, but the English never admit their mistakes.
I think everyone would admit maguire dove and lingard can go down easily, as can sterling But we don’t do it as theatrically or as often as the likes of Neymar
You lose the right to take the high road after Stones kicks Falcao in the head whilst Harry Kane is the most serial diver in World Football.
I was angry with Colombia, they decided to play soccer only after Kane's goal. It was a balanced game and Colombia lost half the time without football. But the English should also make a self-criticism. One thing does not redeem another.
I saw all of it. Don't feel like debating any of it either. The problem with Colombia wasn't any particular act by itself. It was a clear intent from the beginning to have this game decided by antics and not by the way it was played.
