Osorio should stay... enough with the low ceiling flavor of the month mex coaches.

Prepare for 4 more years of rotations and a WC 2022 Rafa Marquez call up

Oh shoot. I didn't know it was that serious with Matias. Why not? Might as well give him a shot. Then the again the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. If we had a list of suitable and actually good coaches that wanted to coach El Tri it would be better. But it is what it is.

It doesn't matter what Osorio does until there is a shake up in how we ship out players, or how we nuture the future it will be the same failure.

After this I want Hugo Sanchez back and give him 2 cycles, allow him to watch players grow.

If we just want to play nice football, win some and keep the status quo anyone who doesn't rotate will get us to the world cup and then back home by the 5th game.

Better than the crap we have now.. even more rotations since there is gonna be a generational change. Piojo hasnt improved or learned from the national team he still relies on the same outdated system and struggles to break the bunker like the CCL.

Hugo Sanchez has been out of the coaching loop for years...instead of improving himself going abroad and study new methods he decides to take his talents to Futbol Picante

I understand that I really do. But he understands the downfalls of Mexican football, he was the 1st that said give me 2 WC and the 3rd you'll have a WC finalist. Es un proceso culero but one we have to take.

We taken the easy road with a flavor the week coach. Hoping their tactics that make up or hide our weakness where we don't have players that fit the role.

We need break every down, start from the youth and work up. The current generation allow them to shine to their ability and hope for the best.

Also Hugo was the 1st I remember saying the Liga MX needs to be split from the television mafia....or that the national team be run without their input. Thats what we need.

I actually liked Hugo's team selections, for the most part he picked the players that were most on fire during that time. But I really don't know in what kind of condition his coaching skills are at right now. It's been a while.

We need Hugo as head coach dude has anger and passion for our NT, he doesn't need to spend his evenings "studying" el futbol ya esta inventado, Osorio era muy estudioso y ya ven, le falto leer el libro donde dice que poner a jugadores en posisiones improvisadas es una pendejada, necesitamos a un entrenador que se adapte a nuestros jugadores y trabajar un estilo que destaque sus virtudes necesitamos un proyecto de 8-12.

I am also highly critical about almeyda’s league record, but the main reason he excites me is his track record in cup competions and knockout games. Maybe it’s a specific mentality he brings. But from what I recall of Osorio: he did great at nacional at the league level but I don’t think he ever advanced to the quarter finals of the copa libertadores, didn’t win any knock out games. He left and the team won the libertadores. So it wasn’t surprising to see him get eliminated in the first knock out game of the copa America, confederations cup, World Cup, etc..

I’m a Chivas fan but Almeyda never admitted to his own fault, he would blame not having players, not having his players not being able to acquire new players. I don’t see him as a guy who can make miracles with what he has

Need better scouts, your telling me we all the Mexicans in Mexico and USA and we can’t get one world class player, we need a striker that is a killer, be honest if chicharito took the ball by himself vs the goalie you would be confident he would bury it with that horrible touch

I don't think there is one perfect ideal candidate that is the end all be all. Here are some people I think could be good candidates. The first tier are coaches I think FMF should be after immediately. I would have no complaints with either of those coaches. The second tier are coaches that I think could do well, but I have some reservations about. They are not listed in any particular order within tiers.

    Top Tier
    1) Juan Antonio Pizzi
    2) Vucetich
    3) Marcelo Bielsa

    Second Tier
    4) Matias Almeyda (lacks international and world cup experience)
    5) Miguel Herrera (More of a motivator than a tactican. A bit too clownish to represent the national team)
    6) Pekerman (likes to rotate, just like Osorio)
    7) Sampaoli

The thing is the opponents in those cup games were weak. Copa MX had many 2nd div sides and CCC was MLS teams coming out of preseason.Thats not to say Mati will fail. In the NT he will have more players to choose from but ultimately, I dont think he is a very gpod tactician.

Like Lavolpe he failed to win every second round match he played in [ outside of Mexico]. I just give him the benefit of not starting the cycle from the begining.

We had so much talent, so much potential for badass Mexican managers but they all took different routes...

Imagine Pavel Pardo as a manager, dude would've probably been lit. Classy and has a high footballing IQ.

Regarding Hugo, I'm a huge fan, but I'd be a little worried considering how he's been out of the managing loop for a while.

Damn, we have so little to choose from.

This, my fellow Chilla-hermanos making the injuries excuse for the team missing out on consecutive liguillas. However, teams with lesser squads had better tournaments. Another negative on Mati was that in the relegation season he choked and the team was only saved because Dorados played even worse.

What is Pavel doing these days?

Torrado became an executive, and it seems like Marquez is heading that direction as well. At least they are players that "get it." Mexico needs more good soccer executives.

Hugo is a complete idiot. 2004. If it wasn’t for that year, he wouldn’t even be relevant in the coaching discussion. 2004. That was 14 years ago. Dios mio.
