I hope Egypt get some redemption and get their first World Cup win here. I would play Salah in this game so he can at least have an enjoyable game.
With Egypt out I'm pretty sure of one thing: A record will be set - El Hadary will start and become the World Cup's oldest player.
Hopefully Salah is back in four years time and has someone to compliment him. One major mistake I feel was not starting Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhi. He's Egypt's most mercurial talent at the moment and should have been given a starting slot, even if he's far from a finished product. Also - the coach should have taken Koka. Salah will be in his prime at 29, but for now it doesn't look good, especially with the only other truly quality player Ahmed Fathy bound not to come back in 2022 (being 37). Hopefully Trezeguet improves, maybe Salah Mohsen could become a quality striker (he's 19 now), Kahraba has faded badly.
I think a few records will be broken in this game, Oldest player at the World Cup and First World Cup win for Egypt.
And there we have it: https://www.thesun.co.uk/world-cup-...sam-el-hadary-oldest-player-world-cup-record/ BTW Salah not starting. Pretty much says it all - was never fully fit.
Indeed, soft, and more serious holding have been not been called in bucketloads. indeed, with that level, I'd expect 4-6 PKs a match. Not that that'd be a big thing. I'm increasingly shifting to the view that this nonsense needs to stop, so give the 4-5 PKs a match until it does
WTH... I can get the first PK, although that ws pure bad luck. But the second one is a joke giving the bear-hugging, headbutting, judo tackles that are taking place in the penalty area unpunished at this World Cup. Also - 2 out of 3 PKs dished out for holding were given to African teams. And honestly - they are not the biggest guilty parties. With that level of 'PK worthy' recognition each game would have 10-11 PKs.
The game is a joke in the first place...It's just a glorified friendly...Should be more entertaining with no bs PK calls...
With that dodgy PK Saudi Arabia avoids the ignoble distinction of being the only team without a goal this WC.
